    Removing blood from cloth.

I've pulled blood stains on carpet out with a damp cloth, then salt, let it sit a few minutes, then blot. not sure about pool table cloth, tho.

    Aiming very close cuts

I believe this, bob :) as a related question, draw (in general) seems more difficult to control than using top- is that inherently the case for some reason, or would it be more of a personal thing? I think with top, I can elevate my bridge to create what is more of a level cue, and I can see...

    Aiming very close cuts

stance- good places to point feet?

this tracks w me, thanks. striving for consistency, in general, is on my list- will add this. sure I have. I've mined the pbia site and reached out to a number of instructors over time, but they've either moved away, are busy, or are missing in action I just looked and am satisfied with the...

stance- good places to point feet?

from playing other sports, I learned the value/importance of having good footwork this seems to apply to pool as well, tho I'm curious to what extent and I'm wondering what the benefits/consequences are of pointing feet in certain directions a little while ago, I started positioning my back...

    arthur kreshell, the "seattle kid"

thanks bob. mcgoorty mentions a chart in his book that arthur made (presumably showing the tracks byrne mentions) do you know how arthur's method/chart rated to what was/wasn't out there at the time? mcgoorty suggests that it was important.

    arthur kreshell, the "seattle kid"

living in seattle, I find it neat that byrne's "mcgoorty" mentions a player nicknamed the "seattle kid" a quick google search revealed a few bits, one unsurprisingly connected to byrne if you're able, feel free to add on- would be fun to learn more...

    Quality vs quantity

lately I've been finding some combo of the above to be enjoyable, and I think helpful a few months ago, I started playing ghost with throwing balls out and running them I could get through three and four pretty easily, then on five I'd run them about half the time for a few weeks maybe a month...

    why we miss- ?

appreciate all the responses. I like the way fran put it, I can visualize almost all of my misses stemming from the two things she mentions I've been watching video of my play, and try to figure out what I'm doing right/wrong. it's an ongoing process, but I'm seeing a few things even after...

    why we miss- ?

I guess there sure could be many reasons why we fail to pocket balls and/or get position and likely it depends on who's shooting, etc..but I'm wondering if instructors could/do boil those reasons down? if so, what's the list?

Pattern advice knowledge. step on in.

totally agree. I think it also helped me do a better job of planning ahead, in general in an actual game, I take my time and am more thoughtful than in practice..trying to improve that

Pattern advice knowledge. step on in.

I thought of this post when I was playing 5-ball ghost tonight. I've been working my way up from 3, but get stuck on 5 about half the time. when I started tonight, I tried putting a break pad where I wanted the cb, and I did that after every shot for the first few games. I played pretty well...
