thanks for the reply. the way I pictured the shot is actually a bit inaccurate- there was originally more angle on the one, making shooting with high right much less instinctive, and shooting with outside english more attractive (to me, anyway). I understand that shooting with inside english...

I get that the inside spin wears off and so the cb just rolls..but in this case, the cb seems to not just be rolling, but rolling out with running english- in this case, the opposite spin I'm putting on the cb in the first place. that's the part I don't get, or am I wrong that this is happening?

shooting the 1, trying to get shape on the 6- there are different ways to hit it, but I'm curious about one in particular hit well, putting low and inside/right english on the cb leaves it nicely behind the 6 for a shot in the same pocket as the 1 intellectually, I know this because I've done...

I think for pool it's important to be strong, but by being able to maintain good balance to be coordinated in both stable, and stretched out positions..have good core strength I think it's better to be not bulky but light, physically and mentally prepared to play long

sure, if speed (and length of stroke, is what I meant) is the culprit that's likely a function of a bigger issue- alignment, mechanics, etc. nonetheless- I personally have more confidence swinging slowly but definitely recognize the value in being able to strike in all ways

I hear you, and conceptually agree but I think in this case, the benefits of keeping my cue on line better/more accurate is worth sacrificing power. which incidentally, I'm not sure I'm really losing much/any ? not sure. and definitely a work in progress. but I like the track I'm on. thanks...
