Good deal on Esquire Magazine, November 1954.

you could buy a new mag, but it wouldn't be a 70 year-old classic mag and an example of literary mainstay walter tevis' first published sale and precursor to one of the most famous pool tales told 12-13 bucks ain't bad for that, I don't think! hey I hear that evergruven guy posts some good...

    recent 9-ball notes

I take bih if I don't have a real shot on the 1 ball, which historically, is often I'm getting more looks at the 1 with the improved break, but still mostly bih balls are definitely more open, fewer clusters and outcomes more predictable the game is more about execution at a level that's closer...

    Pain in elbow

this is a big topic and much more worthy than just a blurb, but I'll leave this here to consider one of the best pieces of advice I ever got from a doc/PT was "the body wants to move" when injured, our instinct might be to shut down and rest, but continuing to move might be more helpful pain...

butt diameter sweet spot, and for loose grip- ?

agree about the wrap. no daylight tho between stick and grip hand, tho? with a little grip from all the different parts of our hand combined, isn't that good enough? tho from a consistency standpoint, I could see where having a repeatable grip would be advantageous. but also I could see...

butt diameter sweet spot, and for loose grip- ?

was thinking about this when I posted. I like it wrapless, but definitely grippy- I should add that my hand size is apparently on the small side of average but I think what matters more is proportion- ? not one size fits all, is my guess.. some will say it's just a matter of preference, and...

butt diameter sweet spot, and for loose grip- ?

so for a long time I thought that using a thinner butt diameter would make it easier for me to have a loose grip, and control it I had kind of an epiphany recently, and am now thinking a thicker butt might actually encourage using a looser grip- but to a point and maybe at a certain dimension, I...

which favors the higher-rated player, winner break or alt. break?

yea, I've thought of this re: alt. break in tennis, the server is expected to hold serve in nearly all cases, percentage-wise that said, it's not usually a shock when a server gets broken- but usually when one does, they've made some mistake, or- the other player steps up, or both not sure this...
