    Richard Black Merry Widow

I like the cue, but love how excited you are to tell the story behind it. Was going to ask which ferrule length you liked. Then I noticed only one has been played. Can you tell us the thoughts behind the different lengths? Larry

    Cored Pool Cues

Don't have to core them. Full splice cues were made for many years before the first cored cues. Just have to be carefull of the wood combinations. There is a reason you don't see ebony on ebony titelist cues! Larry

    Cue Recommendations

Start local and work you way out. Don't buy a cue based on the cheapest price for the style you want. By buying local. You have a better chance of hitting with the cue makers cue. He will also be less likely to go missing if there is a problem. Larry

    Return Points

It's easier to build square bottom points. Most leave the points the width of their band saw blades. To go to sharp return points. Other steps must be taken. It's also easier to cut the forearms leaving the returns blunted. With sharp returns. You have no end grain to end grain glue contact...

Do even the most well respected cue makers make cues with uneven points, at times?

First, I have never seen a manual machine. That couldn't be converted to CNC. So any points could be CNCed in. Second, I hope any modern cue made, from start to finish, by a well respected cuemaker. Would have points within 1/8 inch. Sneakies, conversions, and older cues get a pass. Larry
