    Open or Closed?

For me... Open bridge for most shots... certainly for all stun and stop shots. Closed bridge for most every draw shot wherein I want whitey to come back towards me. And a mix of open and closed bridge for follow shots, depends of the speed of shot. Closed for more powerful follow shots... open...

    Seybert's has Kamui Chalk

What is not clear from your post is the frequency of chalking during those 19 games. Was it never?... or was it every 4th or 5th shot?.. or whatever? Also, in my experience, a miscue is normally a function of quality of stroke in combination with the offset of tip placement from true center...

9 Ball players doing well in 3 cushion tournaments. How?

First off, I know close to nothing about 3C Carom but what I gleaned from another thread is the diameter of 3C balls is slightly larger than that of a standard pool ball. Correct? If so, which set of balls do you use on the Diamond table with the pocket inserts?... the smaller 3C or std...

Where's all the talk about moving to 10' tables?

IIRC, it was a converted Brunswick snooker table.

hang in there or opt out?

Brother... I feel your pain. First and foremost, take care of things on the home front... whatever that takes. Pool can wait. I'm guessing that there may be some guidance/counseling online in regards to the process of accepting the realization that a loved one is terminally ill. There may be...

    Seybert's has Kamui Chalk

It may be a fine point... but I didn't bash your chalk... I just stated that I don't buy the marketing relationship of finer grain/more friction/bigger sweet spot for more cue ball spin. BTW, who the hell needs more cue ball spin than they can currently get with existing chalk?... I certainly...

    Is this related to pool?

    Seybert's has Kamui Chalk

So according to the sales pitch... finer particle size translates to maximize the friction = a larger sweet spot to generate more spin to the cue ball I don't buy it.

Where's all the talk about moving to 10' tables?

Having a dolly is a given. Glen (RKC) moved and set up my table, a 9-foot Pro Am, by himself.. even to the point of adjusting its position under my table light after the table came off the dolly. I believe that a second person would be necessary for essentially doing the same set up for a 10'...

    P3/z2

I agree... but I believe that aspect is beyond the question of the OP. But I'll add, the more cues you play with the easier the adjustment will be to adapt to a totally new cue.

    P3/z2

Hmmm... in general, I purposely try to avoid playing off the vertical centerline of whitey... except in 1) very short shots wherein I need to apply running english in order to open up the rebound angle off a cushion and/or to speed up whitey after contacting a cushion... (even for short shots...

    Dear ABP board members -

Like most everything in life, pool will be to each of us what we make of it in our daily lives. I love to play the game. I personally feel no disappointment whatsoever. That said, it would be a bonus to see it as a more prominent sport/game nationally, but I'm not going to miss a beat in my...

    P3/z2

There's always an adjustment when changing shafts (and cues in general). The more shafts and cues you shoot with regularly, the easier the adjustment will be, imo. I bounce back and forth between 3 or 4 cues during any given session on my home table (which includes a Z2, a 314 and a couple of...

I'll take a guess... minimal set up time/effort.

Where's all the talk about moving to 10' tables?

And Justin has responded in the new TAR Room thread that their room has enough S.F. to set up a 10-footer in place of the 9-footer that they have now. I foresee a TAR match on a Diamond 10-foot Pro Am. :thumbup2: Sign me up right now for a PPV of that match... almost regardless of who is playing.

Save Barry Behrman's US Open events

You know what, if the pros won't support the US Open, perhaps the amateurs will. As others have mentioned here, the pros should be working with the promoters... not making demands on them and threatening to boycott the event. The pros are in no position to make demands, imo.

    99 game

No need... a lesser player would score lower... just like bowling. If a lesser player is competing with a better player, a handicap can be calculated (like in bowling). If that is the case, read up on handicapping bowling... and apply the same principles.
