    block out distractions

You'll know that you are there (over the hump of letting distractions affect your game) when after you sink the last ball, your opponent says to you... "Nice break 'n run."... to which you reply... "Thanks, but I really didn't realize I was on a break 'n run. I was totally absorbed in each...

    block out distractions

This is some of what has helped me... and continues to help me: To play well, pool must be played in the present. When down on the shot, there is no past (no thoughts about last shot or last game). There is no future (do NOT think, If I make this ball, I win the game.)... there is only now...

What other thoughts?... shot related? If so, that easy to correct. Or are we talking about you're thinking about something TOTALLY unrelated to pool?

New TAR Studio in Las Vegas.

Based on the relationship of the large diamonds (L & R) that are part of the Diamond logo on the facing of the short rail... and their relationship to the nearest diamonds on the rail, I would say that the table is a 9-footer. I have a 9-footer and the relationships are the same as on my table...

    Poll: smoking and pool

Message for whining non-smokers, Vent your frustration to the smokers who are smoking around you. You have absolutely nothing to gain by whining to us.

    Poll: smoking and pool

I had forgotten about that... yep, they did... little 4-packs, iirc. Pretty handy if you were low on your cig rations. I wonder if anybody has tried to sue the government for including cigs with the field meals.

    Poll: smoking and pool

Beautiful, brother. Nice! My friendly USPS driver delivered a couple of boxes of Partagas Shorts a couple of days ago. I may take one for a test run and smoke it while hitting some balls on my Diamond. Smoking cigars and playing pool go together divinely. :thumbup2:

    Poll: smoking and pool

Perhaps you guys should start a thread in the NPR Forum. It could be entitled... "Everybody should stop smoking and here's the reasons why". :groucho:

    Poll: smoking and pool

Larry - I'm 62 years old and have been smoking cigars for 15 years. None of your barbs are going to penetrate my thick skin. Nice try, though. Cheers brother.

    Poll: smoking and pool

Same here in WA. I'm now glad that it went that way... it definitely played a role in my decision to buy my first home table... and insulate/sheetrock/paint/decorate the interior of my garage (now my home room) so I can play pool and smoke cigars in peace... happy boy. :-)

Larry, you're entitled to your opinion... as we all are... but to call people "idiots"... and "dumb" as if they are facts is not necessary... and frankly, I find it offensive.

Depends on the circumstances of the accident. Who is at fault? Oh, and BTW, wearing a helmet does not necessarily equate to NOT having a head injury... regardless of the speed at which the accident occurs. I'm with Fatboy on this one. I ride a motorcycle here in WA state, which has a helmet law...

    Poll: smoking and pool

I smoke cigars fairly regularly... and yes, for me, tobacco is not addictive. I can not smoke a cigar for several days and I have no cravings.

The PM system must be set up differently... as I checked that system and all of PP's aliases are available as accounts that a PM can be sent to... or so it appears.

I think that some of what PP posts is actually funny... but it's also pretty ridiculous... and it eats up band width and also gets some members a bit upset simply due to his trolling. Trolling does get old.

    Hunter lombardo?

Not much to report after doing a google search on his name. Apparently, he has a house in West Palm Beach in FL... don't know if he owns or rents. Thorsten Hohmann spent some time with Hunter there a couple of years ago (gleaned from Thorsten's blog). Like I said... not much to report. We...

    Are Diamond Tables Really Smart?

I should add that it is my understanding that the numbered balls in an Aramith set are colored to their cores... and the optical density lasers on the Diamond Smart tables are looking for the cue ball, which is white-colored to its core.
