    Are Diamond Tables Really Smart?

My understanding it is optical density... and not simply the color of the ball. The laser measures the optical density for a certain depth of the ball... I don't know the depth... just the concept.

    Does this action constitute unsportsmanship?

Based on your description of what happened and also the lay of the table, put me in the "loss of game" category.

Need Pre-Shot Routine For Getting out of car

A FOB is a small electronic hand held device that sends an IR signal to your power door locks to either lock them or unlock them. Most higher end cars are sold with them. Using one eliminates having to put a key inside your door lock to unlock it.

    TVmike has proven untrustworthy

Jay... the little guy rolling on the floor laughing means I was bustin' your balls, brother... all in fun... no ill will intended. You obviously handled the situation perfectly. I would have done the same thing. Cheers, brother.

Jay - If only you would have had more patience. If you had, none of us here would have been exposed to the cesspool of contempt and disdain you and Mike had for one another. Perhaps you have learned your lesson. We'll see. :rotflmao:

    English on 2-3 rails

I should add that when I try to play it 3 rails (high RH english), that I come awfully close to scratching in the lower side pocket. The cue ball ends up at approximately the same location shooting it either way... but the 2-rail approach (cuing low right) is safer in my opinion.

    English on 2-3 rails

After shooting this shot several times on my 9' Pro Am, here is the best way for me to play position on the 2-ball. Cue low right (5:00 o'clock) and draw (with a medium hard stroke) the cue ball back to the RH short rail, targeting for the 2nd diamond. The side spin will open up the angle a bit...

    English on 2-3 rails

I'm not current on diagramming tables but I will attempt to explain the principals. Running english does a couple of things... namely, it opens up the rebound angle after cushion contact (especially at steep angles into the cushion) and it also allows the cue ball to pick up speed upon contact...

    Fellow Az'er, Hemicudas passes away.

So long, brother. ;) RIP, knowing that the game goes on. Remember this, everybody... we're all stewards of the game. Others came before us... and others will follow us... and we're all here but a brief time. Spend it well.

Need A professinal review of Predator 314z

I never heard of a "Z" shaft by Predator. I'm of the opinion that they came out with only the Z2... which has an 11.75 mm diameter ferrule/tip and the taper is Euro-type. Anybody else heard of (just) the Z shaft by Predator????

How tight is three and a quarter inch pockets?

Somewhere around my computers (work laptop, work desk top or home desk top), I have a photo that RKC took of one of the corner pockets of the "1-pocket table" at the Golden Fleece here in the Seattle area. Glen extended the rails of a standard 9' Pro Am to achieve 3 7/8" wide corner pockets...

How tight is three and a quarter inch pockets?

Mike - FWIW, a table modified to "Diamond specs" and a standard Diamond Pro or Pro Am table are two quite different tables to play on... due to the pocket shelf depth (assuming the same pocket throat width). My buddy has a 9' GC III modified to "Diamond specs" (by RKC) with std Pro Cut 4.5"...

Which pool game requires the best cue ball control?

I hate to nitpick but there's *only* 15 red balls. Never heard of *15 blacks* in snooker... unless they're part of the birds. :groucho:
