10 ball rule-- missed call shot

I'm surprised that Grady hasn't posted yet claiming ownership of these "Grady Rules as he likes to call them.

The next level of 8 ball.

So here's a slightly different variant of the game. I call it Odd/Even 8-Ball. Same rules as BCAPL except... each player's inning starts with them choosing to shoot at either an odd numbered or an even numbered ball in their group. If they pocket it legally, they then must make the opposite...

    shaft wood?

Thanks, brother. They are VERY tight grained. Even without cue wax they glide smoothly through my fingers. They are quite different in that regard.

    Resources to teach jumping

Here's another... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=vx28lpJgwEc The thing to focus on after you understand the basics is to aim the jump cue through (or just slightly below) the core of the cue ball. The "core" of the cue ball is an imaginary small dot in the very center of the cue ball...

    shaft wood?

Here's a couple of pics that I just took of the two TT shafts vs. a typical white shaft. As you can see, the TT shafts are quite dark by comparison. And all three shafts are clean.

    shaft wood?

Definitely! Send a PM to Sheldon (Lebow, cuemaker from Oregon) to see if he has any more blanks.

    shaft wood?

I have had two shafts made for me recently from Timeless Timber salvaged wood. Both are very dark by today's standards. And they are both quite stiff considering their taper (12" pro) and ferrule diameter (12.3 mm).

    1960s Micarta Ferrules

Other than the asbestos aspect, how does this micarta differ from that which masonH is selling?

Forfeits at the US Open one pocket?

Forfeits happen in pool tournaments... so what. I agree with Bob J... no substitutions after the draw is done.

    Question about eye glasses

I have a pair that looks very similar. I went to my local optometrist and he called the Canadian doc, who advised my local guy to select a 14-foot focus length for my prescription. Most regular glasses have a 20-foot focus length. They work quite well when I wear them, problem is I don't wear...

    SVB Vs Alex Match Tonight?

Springier than other Diamond Pro Am-s that haven't had the rails modified by RKC (or equivalent)? If so, why? If not, I understand. :thumbup2:

    SVB Vs Alex Match Tonight?

Welcome to 10-ball on a Diamond Pro Am w/ (std) pro cut pockets. It's a helluva lot more difficult than running a couple of racks of 9-ball on a std Gold Crown, that is for sure.

On average how far do you drive to go shoot pool?

Reminds me of the Beatle's song... Eight Days a Week. Count 'em up.

On average how far do you drive to go shoot pool?

I used to drive about 2 miles from work to play regularly at a bar with 9' Kassens that have buckets for pockets. The place has five 9-footers and eight 8-footers. And after playing for several hours for free, I would then have to drive home about 11 miles or so. Pool was free for me because I...

What was your first pool hall?

Hey, Joey... how you doin', brother!! And then there's ribdoner (Adam) as well. He came from Villa Park Bowl too, iirc. Adam, Joey and I all attended the same HS (Willowbrook) in suburban Chicago. Joey and I graduated in '67. Adam was a year or two ahead of us. Small world, sometimes. ;)

    Kamui Chalk

Hmmm.... that's an interesting proposition, brother. PM me with about a half dozen or so/more of your desired vitolas (like an H. Upmann No. 2, a Montecristo No. 2 or a Punch Royal Seleccion No. 11) and I'll check my inventory and get back to you with my decision. Either way this goes, thanks...

    Kamui Chalk

I would only buy one piece of chalk for $25 if it were worth at least a ball or two... nothing less... but that's just me.
