One thing I like about watching Earl is how he has mastered his new shaft so quickly. Not many people today will use a solid maple 14mm shaft with a linen phenolic ferrule. Earl ain’t afraid of deflection.

Earl needs to “tighten up” his end game. He is shooting too many long shots, putting too many balls up table, and he is playing “area” position instead of “precise” position. He is playing more of a rotation style than a 14.1 style.

Almost every shot that I saw him miss was on a slow roll.

He is shooting quickly and pulling up on some of the short shots that don’t require a lot of power.

LOL. I wasn’t outgunning you. I was confirming it was 14mm. It could be 14.1. Some people were saying it was 15mm or 16mm. It didn’t look that big to me, so I texted Mike. I used to always order my shafts at 14mm, so it kind of looked like the size mine are.

Whether he runs several hundred, or not, I like watching him play. He is poetry in motion. He doesn’t sit around all day on each and every shot, maybe to his detriment, but it makes watching straight pool a lot easier. It is amazing that his eyes are still so good and that he can make...

Waterboarding works pretty good.

No fingers or thumbs were lost in this project. The good thing about this stuff is that you can put it back into hot water and mold it into something else if you screw up or get tired of your first toy.
