What would be a good two piece cue to make a break cue?

Any cue with a good tip that holds chalk and that you can control when shooting with a much harder and faster stroke than you would use for normal table play. FWIW, I think break cues and jump cues should be outlawed. Pool isn't golf.

    Dennis Orcollo wears glasses

It isn't the "glass" that holds them back, it's the frames and the way glasses are constructed. Glasses for playing pool need to be constructed differently than normal day-to-day glasses. The "sweet spot" on a glasses lens needs to be adjusted so that it is centered on the person's eyes while...

    Dennis Orcollo wears glasses

I agree. I tried wearing glasses for pool when my distance vision started deteriorating. I gave up on them and I had a pair of contacts made specifically for pool. Now that I have had cataract surgery for both eyes, I don't need anything.

    Black Ferrules

I had Mike Gulyassy make me a 14mm shaft with a black ferrule for my Gulyassy PHX cue. He was making Earl Strickland's 14mm shaft at the same time for Earl's Gulyyassy cue.

Fedor Gorst on the Joe Rogan podcast today

I have always said that a celebrity doubles charity match between a team of Joe Rogan and Earl Strickland against Efren Reyes and Manny Pacquiao would make a ton of money on PPV and for a deserving charity of some sort.

    KO brothers tip review.

I would be happy if I could just get LePro tips like I used on my cues for decades. The ones I have tried in the last decade, or so, are nothing like the old ones. They are spongy, they mushroom easily, and the fibers separate and pull apart. I used to buy them by the box and cherry pick what...

    KielWood Shaft

I have hit balls with a couple kielwood shafts when they first came out and even though they hit solid and moved the cue ball, they felt kind of "dead" to me when it came to the feedback you get from striking the cue ball. All wood is dead, but the kielwood shafts seemed to have lost some of...

    Help Identify This Cue!

You are correct. He made cues as a hobby when he first started and there is no telling if there are some of his first cues out there somewhere with no make identification markings on them. I had him make me a cue about three years after he started his cue business and I had him make me another...

Yapp winning, with a foul! Just like Maradona making a goal with his hands :D

As far as I'm concerned, the match is over and the winner was declared, so it's time to quit "yapping" about it.

    Softbreak ?

In Germany, years ago, doing a soft break in 9-ball was a common practice when gambling. You would come across the top of the one ball, barely grazing it, and send the cue ball off the bottom side rail and the end rail and bury it in the bottom of the stack. The incoming player could never...

    Softbreak ?

I think the breaker should be able to break however they want as long as a ball and the cue ball touch a rail. Everybody whines when they lose. Players should learn every type of break and use whatever they think works best for them. Discussions like this come up all the time while other...

    Help Identify This Cue!

FWIW, Richard Helmstetter had ivory at his factory in Iruma, Japan back in the early 80s, but I never saw it in any of his cues. I lived in Japan then and had a Richard Black custom that had a cracked ivory ferrule, so I called Richard to arrange a repair. He told me not to ship it back and to...

Why are there so few black pro players..?

Pool does not have a color, except for the money and the balls. Playing high-level pool requires an OBSESSION with the game, THOUSANDS and THOUSANDS of hours on the table, and lots of playing and interaction with players of a higher caliber than yourself. Very FEW players have the option or...
