Looking for a cue maker that will make a plain jane or merry widow cue for 300$

So what exactly is the point of your thread other than degrading the people you want to make you a cue? The couple of builders you mention repeatedly, won’t make you the cue you want. Everyone else cannot or will not make you the cue at the price you want. It is simple. Based on the...

Torrefied Break Shaft.. Will it work?

I already use a phenolic insert so I'm good there. I figured at least a 13mm. Is a conical taper required, or can it be a little less? Of course he likes the curly. Would it be significantly weaker? Honestly, he is not interested it for any breaking properties, he just really likes the look...

Torrefied Break Shaft.. Will it work?

I am in the process of making my first torrefied shafts in plain and curly. I was asked last night if I could make a break shaft out of it. Is it strong enough to withstand breaking? Thanks, Scott

    Interesting Pechuaer

Picture is hard to see any detail, but does look nice. I'm a big Pechauer fan. I have a gorgeous prototype cue for the Danny Basavich Limited Edition cue. I couldn't find any info on it, so I emailed Pechauer and they were very responsive and helpful in identifying and valuing it.

Looking for a cue maker that will make a plain jane or merry widow cue for 300$

Ok you are trolling. I tried to reply as polite as I could, but your retort is your normal empty jab. I wasn’t giving $ advice. It was a legitimate question for budgeting reasoning. You are dictating. Yes you did ask first, but given a resounding answer with the reasons why they oppose your...

Looking for a cue maker that will make a plain jane or merry widow cue for 300$

The majority think this is ridiculous. The most frustrated answered honestly, but you did get the answer you wanted. Some tried to inform you in a "gentler" way and others just didn't bother since you already got the correct answer. Of course there is frustration. You asked the same question...

    Ultraskin comparison.

Agree the Samsara is great. I've installed many. The Ultraskin Heavy Hitter has been a great option for people that don't like the feel of the super hard tips like Samsara, Bulletproof, White Diamond etc.

    Tip maintenance questions

If the tip is ground down over a very short time for no other reason than trying to maintain the "perfect" tip dome, it is over maintenance. A tip that has a near perfect shape, doesn't need any maintenance yet. That isn't under maintaining it. Does the tip I pictured look under maintained? Not...

Looking for a cue maker that will make a plain jane or merry widow cue for 300$

His math and logic suck. He calculated a three hundred dollar cue at $3 an hour with no thought to wear and tear, supplies, inventory investment that’s hanging around. Not to mention skill and knowledge.

    Tip maintenance questions

I'll just repost this from a couple years ago: Ignorance of proper shaping techniques will lead to over maintaining the tip and "shortening" its life. The combination of low knowledge and my first tip being a Kamui clear I totally misunderstood tip maintenance. I was shaping my tip every time...

    Offset points or butterfly fix

I've built a couple different jigs but the first one has worked the best. It still isn't as accurate as I want. It takes a lot of tweaking and touch-up after the cut. I really like the idea of using the lathe's indexing to cut the flies. If I am understanding you correctly, I guess I would have...
