    Gun drill vs arbor

Going to try to get some feed back on this so I will ask again Looking to get my first gun drill. I understand why many core the forearm at something smaller like .650 and the handle at .750. I have also I have read some cuemakers say they core everything at .750 or .775. A bit thin at the...

Az Members who build their own cues please post photo's of your new and old work!!!!

I don’t have the experience of most here, but I would assume there is no way to remove something deep in the wood like that. Pristine is always nice, but sometimes “flaws” can give it character. It isn’t a blotch or unnatural looking mark. It follows the lines of the wood. If it really...

    NEW Bulletproof Synthetic Playing Tips.

The install technique is slightly different. It resists sandpaper more so it does take more effort to sand the face flat for gluing. I had just installed the ferrule so I was trying to sand the whole thing smooth. The razor makes it shiny, sanding and buffing will not. I wanted to install it on...

    My first tip install

I believe it was just the picture. I had never sanded it. Here it is when I re-tipped it later. Kind of moot now though since I removed the whole thing and replaced it with a Tomahawk ferrule. Original Pechauer ferrule: Tomahawk ferrule:

Bringing a 100-year-old cue back to life. I was looking for an old cue with green in it to use as a blank for a project. When I first saw this cue online, I thought it had green veneers based on the pictures. Once I received it, I started to have doubts. I did a light pass to see the veneer...

    Project Tomahawk ferrule material.

You won’t be disappointed. Had to replace another cheap CF vault plate again. Tomahawk won’t do this.

    Repairing a phenolic tip

That’s what I did. Cut down the phenolic and used it as a base for a Bulletproof tip.

    Purple heart refinish

I learned this on my first repair/finish. I thought I could just do the back end only and blend the finish. Nope. I ended up stripping it all back down and started over.

    My first tip install

Finally took some pictures of the shaft. I made a few shafts from pre-tapered blanks already. This was the first one made from a square blank. This makes my cue nearly complete. I would like to make an extension soon as well. I have been enjoying playing with this cue.
