    linen wraps

Well, I've never used any but the plain old liquid one that you use in the dishwasher. I would try the OxiClean if I was buying new, I suppose. Spray might be OK as well, as long as you remember not to soak the linen. HTH

    linen wraps

Mix up some Woolite with warm water in a bowl. Dampen a towel or clean rag and pat that up and down the wrap. You do not want to soak the linen or it might stretch and sag. Let the linen dry. You may have to clean it again to get all the dirt out. Once clean and dry, rub it with wax paper...

    Logo options?

    Repair lathe

I turn tips and ferrules at 900-1000 rpm, so you should be fine.

    Joint thread identification

Retake the picture with a ruler underneath oriented as if you were measuring the length of the pin. Then we can get a better idea of the number of threads per inch. I doubt that it is a 5/16-18, but a 3/8-10 and a 3/8-11 are difficut to distinguish without a reference rule behind them.

    Fix or toss

FWIW, I have Delrin collets, but I often use the strips sold by Gary Langley Cues https://www.facebook.com/LangleyCustomCues They are not leather, but are very consistent, and grip the shaft or butt well without marking the wood. I can get them to hold the business end of a shaft down to .001"...

    Max 1618

Dave, It's only $59 on Amazon - a little discount. Or $93 for 3/4 Gal size. I was looking for some Lacover 30 sealer (per Chris' recommendation) and it was the same. $25 for 16 oz and $29 for shipping and handling. Ugh Gary

    Joint pin tapping

"tap by spinning shaft" Do you mean under power? I would recommend turning by hand and applying light pressure on the tailstock. Tap the same way you would with metal - 2 or 3 turns in and then back out to clear the chips. Rinse and repeat. HTH Gary

Joint Pins - What and why

Comparing the hit of a break cue to a playing cue won't give you any information about the type of pin installed.

    Turn down and more taper

Retapering and resizing a shaft is generally not too difficult. LD, carbon-filled, and hollow shafts limit the amount of reduction/turn down that can be done because if the wall thickness gets too thin, the shaft will be too weak and break easily. Find a cuemaker/cue tech near you that has...

Cnc vs non Cnc cues other questions

"Some people have told me they wouldn’t buy a new cue because of the use of cncs . . . " and SOME people don't know what they are talking about. CNC allows the builder to repeat his/her building diameters, tapers, points, curves, and radial concentricity with precision (less than .001"...

    Taig micro lathe carriage gear?

The gear racks on Taigs come in 64 pitch and 48 pitch, so you'll have to verify your gear pinion is the same as the gear rack you intend to use it on.

    black "carbon" ferrules

Some players, but certainly not all, find it more difficult to see the end of the cue accurately with a black ferrule. Add a carbon fiber shaft and a black tip to the mix and it gets more difficult. YMMV Gary

    Carbon sealer

From reading here, it would seem that many think all carbon shafts are the same. They are not. I prefer mine with a little flex to them, so yes, they are more like a maple shaft. My 2 cents Gary
