    Hunter v Frost, your stance?

It's not Americans so much, as Frost himself. I have had direct experience with playing him in the One Pocket, and he was a total arse when I played well on him. I have absolutely no doubt in my mind he'd play dumb if he felt himself touch the ball, and would never voluntarily give up ball in...

America vs Rest of the World

There is a LONNNNNNNNNNGG road between 700 and 800+. Reaching 700 is not "terribly" difficult when you are a teen with some innate physical talent and can practice 12 hours a day, every day during your summer break, and during any breaks from school, during the school year. If you have an easy...

    Hunter v Frost, your stance?

The point is... It's not just "one" person. Hunter says he saw it. The_JV says he saw it. At least one other person in the crowd actively watching Scott's game says he saw it. The only reason that this is even a debate is that Americans have been playing by amateurish CB fouls only rules for...

    Hunter v Frost, your stance?

Oh? So you are calling The_JV a liar? Because he saw the entire incident front to back, says Hunter COULD see the foul, and says he saw it himself, in person.

    Chess clocks in pool

He's got me on ignore, so he won't see this, but it just shows how out of touch he is. I am pretty sure these chess streams get way more viewers than pool streams. He is insistent on doing things the way they have always been done, that's led to pool almost dying in the vine in recent decades.

    Diamond table question

Ahhh. So, if slate is level, no need to tighten them up?

    Chess clocks in pool

Nice. Give the 30 minutes per player a try, and keep track of how much pressure you feel as the set goes along. You'll need to make the race appropriate for skill level, to not have too little time, or too much. Maybe have a few peeps watching to judge whether it is fun to watch.

How do these diamond tables play so badly? vid

Your intentional antagonizing of RKC aside, he is definitely one of the best billiard table mechanics in the U.S.. You might wanna consider not burning bridges. He has helped me out with specs and knowledge that he could have easily charged for, and all I had to do was ask. This whole thread is...

    Hunter v Frost, your stance?

Which is what a lot of these old guys with their panties in a twist didn't even bother to read in the thread, or, they read it, and are just angry at the rolls life has given them, and are thrilled at the chance to target someone else to let out their frustration. /thread

    Chess clocks in pool

The thing is, It isn't very likely to happen that they actually LOSE on time when 8-0. What IS more likely to happen is they are forced to rush shots, which will result in turnovers, which will make the match much more dramatic for viewers if player 2 gets a few more games due to these...

    Chess clocks in pool

Another hot take. 1. What is complicated about "You get "X" amount of time for all your shots. If you exceed this, you lose. Now get out there and play." 2. Whoever has the most games at the time limit will lead to an INCREASE of safeties (by the player ahead) as the match draws to a close...

    Hunter v Frost, your stance?

Well, perhaps a good start before having the immediate kneejerk, emotional reaction, is to actually read the thread first. We have a forum member who played in the Open, and who was there at the match in question... Saw Scott foul, and reported EXACTLY how it went down. There's no "ifs"...

    Chess clocks in pool

Absolutely not. I am not sure where the misassumption is coming from, but you simply figure out what target match time you are seeking, give half that time to one player, half to the other, and then the players hit their button as they go back to their seat. Time continues to run on your clock...

I emailed them this morning and gave my ideas, and asked that my email be passed along to Emily Frazer.

    Hunter v Frost, your stance?

Oh please, give me a break. A forum member was watching the match live and said Scott clearly fouled the ball when leaning over. They were playing all ball fouls, so Scott "deserved" to have given up bih. Hunter saw the foul but did not "call" it, and Scott brought it on himself by...

    Chess clocks in pool

And this can work when your sport only needs to capture a tiny fraction of fans from a 2 billion+ population, and you can aford a referree for every match. Not workable for pool with it's current fanbase. Plus, the game is hard enough for there to be clear separation at the top, which is not...

    Chess clocks in pool

Me neither, but I can see how it would play out, if the time allowance is right. If we can make finals a single race in a double elimination tournament, we can change the format for the quarterfinals on to make for more dramatic viewing. If it turns out to work, then chess clocks could be...

    Chess clocks in pool

Absolutely. Plus, I think some pros are verifiably autistic, and are unlikely to give a lot of thought to anything but shooting balls and winning. Danny Harriman comes to mind. Some players just ain't all there.
