Butt in lathe I use 1" masking tape instead of a collet. Just make about 10-12 revolutions. Won't slip and wont damage the cue.

Love this idea. Unfortunately, I am installing an ice breaker tip with a leather strip in the middle. I did however just order the 1/8 phenolic rod for other break tips. Thanks for the heads up!

What are you guys using to install break tips such as phenolic, white diamond or ice breaker tips? I have tried super glue impact resistant gel and 2 part epoxy and I have still had a few pop off. Its like trying to glue a rock to a ferrule.

I keep all my tips in plastic storage trays separated. Another repair guy I know says that he stores all his in small zip lock bags or they go bad if they are exposed to air. I have a pretty good inventory of all kinds of layered and leather tips. Any advise or input is appreciated.

Where do you guys get your 1/4" carbide bits from? I don't want to name anyone specific, but they are selling them for $60 apiece. When I do a search on ebay, harbor freight, or other sites, you can literately buy 20 of them for the same price, What is the difference???
