    Funny pic/gif thread...

My thought was that it gives a whole new meaning to "that flag has to go!"

    Frost vs Pagulayan UPDATES

Well, I didn't watch it but I would gladly buy an edited version of the match. Sounds like it was epic!! Congrats to both players for an amazing match.

I still think Alex will ultimately win, but big kudos to Scott for a great night of pool!

Steinway Billiards v. Buffalo Billiards: Meet the Real Hustlers!

Funny stuff. Season 1 has already been filmed. But there's always Season 2, I hope!

Finnegan is a crook and a scumbag.

If I were a juror, and I'm not, I'd be voting with Tate. I do believe that NUTS believes or recalls that only 10 balls were racked, but that just doesn't seem likely.

No chance for Frost. Harsh reality

That Efren vs. Alex match was really the most amazing pool I've ever seen. That's the year Efren ran over Jason Miller (think it was him, the guy who won the banks) before playing Alex, with equally amazing play.

Finnegan is a crook and a scumbag.

I don't see a statement that the shooter ran any balls. As I read it, he made a ball that was "not a money ball" and that was it. See the part in red. I think you're misreading the part in blue. All the OP is saying is that each ball was worth $180, not how many were made. Trusting Mikey's...

Finnegan is a crook and a scumbag.

A bit of a non sequitur, but in the tournament I used to run, my break pot was structured so that everyone who played in the previous week's tournament was entered into the drawing automatically for the current week. Of course, you had to be present this week to be in the drawing. It was a nice...

Ratings and/or numbers for The Hustlers

There was a fair bit of talk about the show at the DC area APA TriAnnuals last weekend. Nobody I mentioned it to said, "what's that?" They all had seen or at least knew about it. In comparison, when I mention the upcoming Make it Happen One Pocket event, to one pocket players not to APA...

    in DC today and tomorrow

Glad you had fun! There are good shooters there, but more on Sun-Thurs. I never noticed all the anger around DC, but that's probably just because I'm angry all the time.

Definitely go to Bedrock over Buffalo. I don't think Buffalo was ever a good place to go. Wish I could make it out, but not this weekend. Have fun!

I think you're playing the game way to conservatively!

    Pure Pool

That, or a full outline of the rack, is a big part of the solution. However, the racks in a pool hall would have to be uniform or at least permanently assigned to a table. You still have to check that the back row balls are frozen to the next row forward, but a T or Triangle outline would at...

an honest review of the hustlers

Again, I'm not proposing showing to show a full 1P game; they don't even show a full 9-ball game. I'm proposing 10 seconds to say "The game is one pocket. The spot is I have to make 6 balls here before he makes 8 balls there. We can both make any ball any time." Then 20-30 seconds to show a...

an honest review of the hustlers

I think they could easily include some one pocket and have it be exciting. I don't think anyone is proposing showing a full one pocket game or match, a safety battle, or an uptable game. There are lots of fancy multi-rail shots in one pocket, more than in 9-ball. The show has demonstrated the...

    Brian Deska

If he's play Dechaine at Steinway, maybe we'll see a Deska cameo on The Hustlers?

an honest review of the hustlers

    1. I enjoyed it overall. It's not about the pool for pool players, but it features pool in a fun way. "The list" is clearly not a real list, but it's a nice plot device. It should probably not be called the best players, but rather "the best amateurs", "the best Steinway regulars", or just...

    Brian Deska

Nice guy, Brian became super-strong in the last five years or so. I'm counting on him to someday be the first Mosconi Cup player about whom I can say "I played him way back when he was only a local shortstop, not a world class player." Even though his dad is a very strong one-pocket player, he...
