in DC today and tomorrow

Down here in DC, a quick trip but hoping to get a little pool time in and staying at the Washington plaza hotel , is buffalo billiards still a good place to go? Thanks!

Buffalo is ok if you don't want to venture far. Bedrock is my preference though. Suburbs in VA and MD have the best rooms in DC area. Local folks i.e. Black Balls will chime in shortly.

Definitely go to Bedrock over Buffalo. I don't think Buffalo was ever a good place to go.

I go no idea about the scene inside the cesspool.
And I am in Norfolk for a gymnastics tournament (though my daughters keep tellin me it is called a 'meet').
One daughter took 11th overall
The other is the state champ in vault and in floor.

If you don't have transportation, you're hosed. But if you can drive, any of these places are a good bet.

Fast Eddies/Revolution in Springfield
Indoor smoking, action during the daytime (I think there's a special until like 5pm, so it fills up)

First Break in Sterling
Diamonds, but hit or miss on the action depending on the night. Tournament on thursdays.

Quball 1 in Maryland
No bar, no pinball machines, no bowling alleys, just pool, nothing else....actually, this room is really just one-pocket with action on every table.

Top Hat in Baltimore
No bar...but the best tables in the state. Lots of action throughout the day.

Thanks everyone! I made it to Bedrock Billiards Saturday night. Took a little bit to get a table. A lot of bar bangers but a cool place with good drinks and good music.

DC is a crazy area to me, seemed like everyone was angry especially drivers. We drove from PA and parked the car at the hotel and just took the circulator bus everywhere ( which is a great deal- $1 each way )

Glad you had fun! There are good shooters there, but more on Sun-Thurs.

I never noticed all the anger around DC, but that's probably just because I'm angry all the time.
