APA regional decision, What's the call?

I'd agree with you in all cases but this one. Here, there is no "shot after" because the game and match were over. As someone wrote above, from the time the scratch occurred forward, it was all just practice.

APA regional decision, What's the call?

Even so, in the finals you would expect a friend or someone to be around. Since the match is over the moment the scratch occurred, any and every one could say "Hey, you won, congrats!" Even if it weren't hill-hill, a spectator should still be able say "You won that game, nice job!" because...

How I Met Eric, a lesson learned

Here's the story of how I met Eric and didn't even know until afterwards: 1. http://forums.azbilliards.com/showpost.php?p=193602&postcount=52 2. http://forums.azbilliards.com/showpost.php?p=193672&postcount=54 Good player, nice guy. I still want a rematch! I'm hoping to go to NJ for the Make...

Quck Poll ... what do you look at last CB or OB

Nothing wrong with looking at the CB if it works for you. That said, wouldn't the right hammer-nail question be whether you look at the hammer or the nail when swinging?

That's exactly what a guy who could give out 9-7 would say!

    How to play this..

Against your typical league player, that's the shot. Most would then kick at the 6 and do the breakout for you. But if you're playing someone strong and who moves better than you, you have to go for the breakout and win whenever it's laying this good.

    One Year Ago Today

I'm in the "final score was closer than the match overall" camp. And I was really hoping both players would get enough games to have some pride at the end, which they did. All that said, it looked to me like 9-7 would be even in the long run, assuming no one's game has moved up or down since...

APA Skill Level vs Win Percentage

4s get a 5-2 spot. Break the balls funny or blow a runout, which the non-super 7s actually do every couple of games, and it's not too tough to lose to a 4. I'd much rather play a 5 or a 6. I'm about 75% win overall, and I wouldn't be surprised if I were 85% vs. 5s and 6s and 65% vs. 4s and 7s...

So by extension, the people gullible enough to believe this is true are the ones who put the Republicans over the top in the Senate?

    question about apa masters

I think Masters is great, and the nearest one to me has lots of good players and few that nobody in this thread would be happy to play. But I do think the APA is shortsighted in only allowing 4-person rosters. Kids, jobs, long one pocket match, you name it. It's very easy to have 2 players...

    Efren got lucky again.

It also helps that the cueball is located very close to the mirror image on the bottom rail of where the target spot by the 1-ball is. It makes it very easy to use any of several 3-rail systems. Note in particular how close the first contact point of the CB on the long rail is to the second...

What everyone else said--Tom knows one pocket inside out, and he explains things very well. The book will be excellent. Aside from people that I match up with, everyone should buy this book! Cory

Which Pool Room Must I See Before I Design Mine?

Cool place, but look at all the shadows on the tables! These pictures make an important point: especially if you're going upscale don't forget to have good lighting for the tables. Modern light fixtures may look cool, but they're terrible lights for pool tables.

Looking for a good ball rack, what are you all using?

You're my kind of crazy, Desi! But for the only slightly OCD, Delta is the way to go.

    Worst table install ever?

When I went to this place, they had Diamonds and GCs and all seemed to be in fine shape, and the locals seemed to like it: http://cuephoria.com/index.html. I would go there or call them, find out who they use, and go with that person. Cory

    biggest come back

In Chicago, late 1990s, APA Las Vegas qualifier. The match score was 2-2 and I got down 0 to 4. I was a 5 playing a 6 and my team was forlorn while the other team was starting to celebrate. I removed my head from my backside and won the next 4 games. We went on to win the trip to Vegas that...
