just cored with purple heart would be sufficient. no need to stabilize it from my point of view. Finding someone that can / will build just a plain jane butt for a reasonable price might be hard in today's cue environment.

each year starts at 300... so no - not 500 a year. you seldom see a SW with a 4 in the front number. They don't make that many cues a year....

my order is in from Oct 2006 and being built now... and for those discussing pricing, just suffice it to say that the secondary market pricing is on par if not lower that some of the SW shop pricing today. These cues are not cheap, and the flipping concept will be changing in the coming...

for the 3rd shaft for each - did you choose a different taper? My order is in the works as I type - Oct 2006 order here - I went with 2 standard protaper and 1 "regular" sw taper. Hope to have mine by the end of the year if the Lord smiles down on me! Congratulations!!! Beautiful Designs.

good question: Yes - I spoke with Paul all about this 4 cue limited series with Viking. The PFD / Vikings cues feature the same internal cored construction that Paul uses in his cues (laminated marine maple). So, in essence they feature PFD type of construction, but butt taper and shaft taper...

had many...and they (from what I can tell) all had the standard parabolic taper. Play STIFF and not what I use normally - I play with a long open taper on my most of my cues. So with the opportunity to pick from 2 other tapers that SW offers, I solicited experience from those that know...
