Experiments in looking at the cueball while delivering the stroke.

Watching the Williams vs Xiao at the Wuhan Open. August of '25. The wst.tv monthly is cheap. The 10 lesson in the archives is worth the $10. He'll 2 beers. 🤷‍♂️ I know what I am seeing with Mark Williams. Xiao is unexplored territory. Should be interesting. A must view for students of the...

    Possible highjack of my name.

I just received two messages referencing contacts that I did not make. Beware anyone trying to conduct transactions using my name. It ain't me.

    Cue Tip Compression

Connect the dots. In my practicing 3 ball the ink transfer is obvious. Today's break pad shows the effect of the increase in humidity. Anyway the glue layer is absolutely good in plywood. 🤷‍♂️

Wuhan Open is an ongoing lesson. Gary Wilson putting it on display with a century. Leads 3-2. What a lesson.

Definitely definition of the aiming finish. Ooops 3-4 going to 5. And the lesson goes on.

Oh yeah that didn't take long. The mention of Higgins rhythm being broken . Duh amazing what confidence is worth. Guess I could look for a link. Duh 😉 Found it. https://www.wst.tv/live/video/fabb8a63-ffe1-4a7a-b669-4abb1ae915ad

    Channeling Buddy Hall

That reminds me of the time Cole had a straight in shot that was the length of a spot shot from the kitchen. He lined it up and then knocked the back off the pocket...while looking into the eyes of the cute waitress.

    Cue Tip Compression

That was my teenage lie to the girl in the back seat of the car when making out. 🤷‍♂️ The other was, "can I put my finger in your belly button?" Then she said, "that's not my bellybutton." The reply was. "That's not my finger."

    Channeling Buddy Hall

Coles wide spread straight legs were not text book but it was solid. I was taught to do all the planning while standing and even walking a complete lap around the table during survey then make the plan. Then set the shooting platform. My aiming starts with the belly button and chin on the line...

What drills are best to get that smooth stroke like Buddy Hall , or Chris Melling?

After watching the video I was directed to this one on the clock system he employed. I recall that when Efren first came to the USA Buddy was the only player to win A Set on a night when Efren took on all challengers back to back in Texas. I certainly enjoyed watching him play In the Reno Sands...

This is the most ridiculous thing I have seen on this forum. You have quite an imagination.

    Cue Tip Compression

I found that playing center line with only top or bottom and staying on natural angles was profitable. I enjoyed playing opponents that liked to spin their rock. They generally underestimated my plain vanilla game. It kept them digging for more ammunition and even grumbling to the gal they...

    Cue Tip Compression

It was the skill set. Being able to deliver the tip to the ball precisely. Switching from object ball to cueball last was a factor. (most likely 🤷‍♂️). Practice with my 3 ball break has shown me how much spin a hard tip can impart. Controlling it takes a little longer to master.

    Cue Tip Compression

Fit and Feel I would liken it to driving a high performance car. It takes a real driver to keep it Shiney side up. Then the skills to win the race come next. It took me a long time to go from medium to hard tip. Now I practice with phenolic break tip. It's enlightening. Center ball mastery...

    Practice what I Preach

The Hat (Rich Geiler) said to me, "if you're over cutting them . You're Hiten Em good. " It took time to appreciate the wisdom. I now recall watching Efren dis assemble Earl the Peral. He broke and ran at least 3 and possibly 4 🤷‍♂️ Then after pocketing a ball on the break, he Over cut the 1...

    Cue Tip Compression

Mark Williams has made 2 147s in a single event. His tip is hard. You can tell by the sound.
