    Sharivari on aiming....

Stan has an impressive video of banks with a curtain. He doesn't mention that banks is his favorite game (a Kentucky staple) and was playing at a high level by the age of 16. 60 years of additional banks play and guess what? He's really good at banking, curtain or no curtain. Is CTE the...

    CTE Testimonials

He said 4" pockets. He left out "bar box." He has something he thinks works, though he admittedly hasn't found a CTE method that suits him best. Good luck to him!

    Sharivari on aiming....

In your last CTE demonstration you missed I think 12 out of 14 of the exact same shot and there was no curtain.

    Sharivari on aiming....

That was me. I did three shots aligned with the diamonds and shot the length of the table as in Stan's video. It took literally one or two shots to zone in on each shot as I have never shot a ball blind like Stan has hundreds if not thousands of times. My video demonstrated that there is...

Sensitivity of Power Draw Shots - Physics or Mechanics?

I didn't mean I stayed down because my back was fatigued. I stayed down because it was easier to get to the next shot that way. By doing that for several shots my back would then start to fatigue and I'd start to lose form, if that makes sense. Thanks for the advice, Fran!

Sensitivity of Power Draw Shots - Physics or Mechanics?

Hey Bob I have a question about VP4. I think I asked PJ this long ago but I don't recall the answer. I have yet to pick up VP4. Is it possible to set up a particular shot and then shoot it over and over with say different spin or speed? Can you place balls precisely on diamond intersections...

Sensitivity of Power Draw Shots - Physics or Mechanics?

So I did a little more practice and even got the laser out to check on alignment. In rereading my initial comments I think I'm giving a misleading picture. The draw shots are not going haywire all over the place like I'm suggesting. Sometimes I hit 3 or 4 shots in a row without standing up...

Sensitivity of Power Draw Shots - Physics or Mechanics?

Yes, that is what Oikawa said above. Thanks for the input.

Sensitivity of Power Draw Shots - Physics or Mechanics?

Well, maybe that's an exaggeration. That has happened but only when I was clearly trying to put too much juice on the ball. Realistically we're probably talking a half diamond error max.

Great suggestions! I'll give all that a try and will report back.

Sensitivity of Power Draw Shots - Physics or Mechanics?

I've done a lot of tinkering over the years. The most interesting thing was using a laser to shine a line down on the ball and length of the cue to my hand a couple of years ago (posted some youtubes on that). It helped me find a true alignment. I haven't played much since then and am trying...

Sensitivity of Power Draw Shots - Physics or Mechanics?

Those are two good points. You're saying the spin/speed ratio will be higher for draw due to friction slowing the cb down more by the time it gets to the rail. Also, angling the cue down for draw probably puts more masse on the ball than the same error on a follow shot, causing general mayhem...

Sensitivity of Power Draw Shots - Physics or Mechanics?

I use a closed bridge for all shots. I would say there is no daylight in my grip but it is very relaxed, if not loose, anyway. I work very hard to keep my hand/forearm as relaxed as possible and my elbow still. I find that when I keep that elbow still for power shots they go in. If I let the...

Sensitivity of Power Draw Shots - Physics or Mechanics?

Has Dr. Dave or anyone else shown why that is? Yes, things break down with more power for sure.

Sensitivity of Power Draw Shots - Physics or Mechanics?

If I put the cue ball on the head spot and shoot straight down table with speed the majority of shots will come back and hit my tip close to dead on. I figure good mechanics. If I hit the same shot with a good amount of draw and with speed I'm not sure what will happen. I might get three in a...

    Split the Difference vs CTE

I like you Larry but you never take a stand on anything, except maybe cue valuation. You see the forum as a place where people shouldn't ruffle any feathers. I see it as a resource where good information can be found. That requires calling out BS. CTE is, flat out, BS. It's been shown...

    Split the Difference vs CTE

Minor comment. The two biggest CTE proponents are banned from posting here (for good reason). If CTE works it is not how and why Stan thinks it does. That has been demonstrated over and over by many of us yet the CTE proponents seem to be immune to reason. This is why newcomers are confused...

    Waste of money pool items

I believe I was using it correctly. I'm the only one playing in my basement so that's a very different situation than what you are doing. Maybe I'll try again, but like Tom just said it might be quicker to pull the hand vacuum out.

Wow. I bought mine 10 or 15 years ago for $25.
