    Pocketing the white ball

You need to learn the 45 degree 2 rail through the center of the table system to avoid 2 rail scratches into the far corner. For one rail scratches you need to learn when the scratch is on and when to change your vertical hit and/or when to put inside or outside english on the ball to avoid the...

Consistency in shafts with firm, dead-center strikes on cue ball?

Its your bridge length. You need to make it longer with the LD shaft for squirt cancellation.

    tips sometime fall off

Honestly the only time I have had a tip come off from my current installer is when I was shaping them myself and doing it wrong by putting it into a T shaped PVC pipe with sandpaper and pushing down hard while turning. Since I stopped doing that none have fallen off. He does a really good job...

Practice table size 9’ or 10’

They force you to aim better and concentrate on your stroke more and concentrate on getting (better) positions where which you dont need to cheat the pocket because you are limited in how you can cheat it. As long as they are not very small like 4 1/8th you can still cheat the pocket so with...

    Landing on the shot.

I do a similar thing as him. He is actually looking at it out of the corner of his eye and quickly glancing at it right after he goes down but he is so focused on paying attention to the shot that he doesnt notice it. If i'm playing good I feel like I dont look at the cueball at all either but...

Practice table size 9’ or 10’

You tend to need less english because balls dont get in the way as much and you need to make sure you pocket the shots It isnt just easier to not hook yourself its significantly easier to not hook yourself but you still need to get good distance and angle even more. 8-ball on 10 foot tables is...

Practice table size 9’ or 10’

I have found that is not the case. The speed change seems to scale with the size of the table. For example if you get 860 you will have to absolutely hammer balls (at a speed you never have to use on a 9 footer) to draw off the side rail one rail if you dont have a perfect angle. With the 760...

Practice table size 9’ or 10’

Get simonis 760. I have played on 10 footers with 760 and 860 and the 760 is much more playable. Basically once the cloth wears in on 860 on a 10 foot table you have to hammer everything to get significant ball movement. You don't have to do that as much on the 760.

Practice table size 9’ or 10’

Its all about the reach. There are some 1 rail shots that are impossible to reach so they are no longer viable. Also, when you are shooting a ball down table, you will have to position the cue ball about a diamond further up table just to be able to reach it. Basically if you dont play close...

Practice table size 9’ or 10’

I have played extensively on 8.5, 9 and 10 footers. The biggest problem you will notice is the reach factor on the 10 footer. You will start playing patterns on the 10 footer that you would never play on a 9 footer because its impossible to reach the shots you would play on the 9 footer. Sure...

    Side bets in APA

The point is because of APA there are many players who think 'real' 9-ball is played by ball count, and think it must ALWAYS be played this way and on top of that ALWAYS handicapped (even if playing for nothing): and they don't even know what a race in 9-ball is. I've met them at the local...

    Side bets in APA

The problem is what he is saying is half true. There are MANY APA 9-ball players that dont know you win the game when you sink the 9 in real play. And yes I've met them. Maybe its not half, but its a considerable number. APA does do a good job of promulgating BIH rules 8-ball though. If it...

    Why this ten ball rule?

I think he is more alluding to you call safe, sink the 3 ball, and now your opponent has to break out the cluster from where the CB lies or its a foul.

    Why this ten ball rule?
