If you have enough chalk you can build a stair case to the next level in your house.
Two glasses of rum then.I think you are mocking me but it was hard!
Funny you mention the “million” ball concept. I have heard that for years, then while watching that 14.1 challenge and saw how many balls SVB, Earl Shaw etc ran it got me thinking. A million isn’t that many. They say you have to hit a million balls to attain a high level of playing.
Might need another gross of chalk.
Is that table a Diamond or a Gold Crown?
Hahahaha.
I have a 3 story house…..If you have enough chalk you can build a stair case to the next level in your house.
I understand what you are getting at.Funny you mention the “million” ball concept. I have heard that for years, then while watching that 14.1 challenge and saw how many balls SVB, Earl Shaw etc ran it got me thinking. A million isn’t that many.
For sure there’s no doubt a million balls will get a beginner out of the gate and pretty far down the road to becoming a solid player.
But after watching that 14.1 challenge and thinking about many years I’ve played. And not played-like the last 5 or 6. And other players I know here and at various rooms, I’d bet there’s lots and lots of people who passed that million ball marker many times over.
I’m curious what other people think about that. 10,000 balls 100 times isn’t really that many when your playing full time for years and years.
It’s impossible to ever know, but it would be cool to know how many balls we have all hit over the years. I bet the numbers are higher than we might think.
Best
Fatboy <——-can’t make a ball after a million anyways lol
Nobody knows how many balls they shot.I understand what you are getting at.
Don't know anyone who has the gumption nor the determination to count to a million.
I guess it's just a saying, sort of like what Steven Wright used to say:
"It's a small world but I wouldn't want to paint it."
Haha.
Yup.Nobody knows how many balls they shot.
I just think it would be interesting to see that number and then how that number relates to a persons ability.
I’m certain there are players who are super strong with less balls shot than others who have hit more because of the difference in talent etc.
It’s just a hypothetical thing. Balls hit vs skill level
It’s impossible to ever know.
Sure are.Yup.
Some players are just naturals.
Probably know how many balls skidded and cost them a trnmnt.Nobody knows how many balls they shot.

You forgot the other part of the concept:Funny you mention the “million” ball concept. I have heard that for years, then while watching that 14.1 challenge and saw how many balls SVB, Earl Shaw etc ran it got me thinking. A million isn’t that many.

Very well said!!You forgot the other part of the concept:
Want to get good? Hit a million balls.
Want to get better? Hit a million more....
100 shots an hour is a million balls after 10000 hours. What does it take to become a great player?
Is it 10,000 hours of practice, a million shots or using up a gross of masters?
This. If your chalk is more than 1/2" tall when it retires, you're doing it wrong.I end up with a piece of masters that’s like 1/2” tall and eventually it’s too much of a pain to grab it and sometimes they just break apart. Maybe I’m a cheap bastid; )
I try to keep the my chalk as flat as possible. I can get a little past halfway before there's not enough to hold easily.This. If your chalk is more than 1/2" tall when it retires, you're doing it wrong.
Basically the equivalent of this:
