    Old vs New Diamond Cushions?

The newer blue logo rails will bank truer with less ball hop. It is possible to have your old rails modified to the newer specs. There are a handful of qualified mechanics on here that can do the work. Where are you located?

    Olhausen side pockets

The pocket bolts have just worked loose. Seems to be pretty common on Olhausens for some reason. I'd throw a lock washer on there and tighten it back down or install lock washers the next time it gets moved or recovered while all the rails are off anyway.

    Drop pocket installation question

That totally depends on the design of your table. My personal preference is for them to mount underneath, but I like a cleaner look where the "guts" of a table (hardware) are hidden.

    Rail Process And Pocket Size

I would recommend checking with Pat O'Donnell or Bob DeTurk in your area.

    Rail Process And Pocket Size

It depends on the model of table whether you just replace the rail or break it down and replace the rubber. For example, coin tables for individuals, I almost never just replace the rubber. It's generally cost effective to just replace the whole rail, especially with the quality of the...

    Brunswick Golden Oak?!

Those are called feather strips and they aren't model specific. They get broken a lot when pulling the cloth out to recover. Are you going to recover the table yourself or hire someone to do it? If you hire someone, they should have feather strips, but I would mention it to them ahead of...

Need a Table Mechanic in Middle Tn area

We probably won't be able to tell the profile just from a picture. Some useful measurements might be the subrail depth (measure the cloth on the rail from the tip of the cushion straight back to the finish of the rail.) and the rail thickness. You may or may not be able to feel the seam on the...

Need a Table Mechanic in Middle Tn area

Do you know the brand and model of the table? How old is it? Condition of the table? What all work do you want done to the table? The answers to those questions will give us a better idea what you need. At this point you're kind of asking "Hey, my car needs some work done...is it worth it...

    Pictures of hackwork section!

I agree that hardware problems can happen pretty routinely. However, with a bolt with clean threads going into the same size and thread count insert with clean threads, seizing does NOT happen routinely. There's something that causes the hardware to fail. The Hack part of it comes in when...

    Pictures of hackwork section!

They had a light bead of glue and were brad nailed. It wasn't hard to get them apart carefully. You can see some of the chunks off wood that peeled off with the glue, but everything went back together really well.

    Pictures of hackwork section!

Hacked (literally) bolts It's been a while and I always liked this post, so I thought I'd bring it back to life. Here's one we worked on recently. An Olhausen table that the previous guys had cross threaded 3 bolts. One was already broken off when we got there. Another came out, but had so...

    How would you fix this?

Before you take any of the brackets off, try checking the frame to make sure it's square. I'm just firing a guess that may be what's causing the brackets not to match up in two opposing corners.

    Coin-operated pool tables ?

That all depends on the slate and the installer. Assuming perfect slate in both scenarios (not likely), the goal of a good installer is to get 3 pieces of slate as flat and level as one-piece.

    Coin-operated pool tables ?

Some questions I have specifically is. 1. Are they all 1 piece slate tables. - YES 2. is there a way to check the slate before buying - YOU CAN CHECK FOR CRACKS BY TAKING THE CLOTH OFF OF THE SLATE BEFORE LIFTING IT OUT OF THE TABLE. OTHER THAN THAT YOU WILL HAVE TO FEEL BY HAND FOR ANY...

    Brunswick cushion problem

You best local hardware store glue is probably going to be Weldwood. Scotchweld is definitely better though. That's just from my experience, but I know there's a lot out there and hopefully some of the other guys will chime in as well.

    Brunswick cushion problem

I was referring to him (and me) recommending replacing all of the cushions and then you saying you knew it wasn't right, but you were just going to do one. I'm glad you've since decided to do them all. Then he provided a link to the rubber and you went somewhere else. Again, glad you found...

    Brunswick cushion problem

It's more of an industrial glue, not an all purpose, general use glue. That's going to be the best stuff, but yes, you're going to find it in larger quantities than you'll need for one table. You have to realize that you're asking questions on a forum and getting answers from some of the top...
