just how precise do you think it has to be????? if you can slide your coring dowel through it........... isn't it close enough????

I never drill or bore a pilot hole............ I use a bushing in a steady rest to start the drill........... I drill from both ends and not all the way through............. in burls you can split or chip out when the drill exits the other end................ the 2 holes do match up pretty...

I have never added moisture when using GG........... the humidity is enough

the DC motor might not core.............. but mine has been running for 12 years just fine........................ put a house cue on your lathe ............. you will want to move the head stock........................ it's just more versatile

yes but the head stock is not movable

I like the medium............. it does harden up over a month or 2............ then I change............... never glazes over and always takes chalk.......... once a week I clean it with 220 sand paper........... never scuff it ,,, never tap it... never pick it.............

I have fully cored all my cues........... about 3 with a 3/4 in purple heart dowel and the 300 with a 3/4 maple dowel

I just sand by hand with a 1/4 sheet of 400 wet until I am about 1 or 2 thou over size.......... then I change to a smaller dia mandrel........... finish sanding and buffing.................... 600, 1000, 1500, 2000,,,,,,,,,, then cream polishing compound Kim

it depends on what finish you are using............ I do an epoxy base coat and solarez over it................. so I would say go down to .830 to .825......................... Kim

if your pin is actually mounted into Juma .............. you don't know how to build cues................... my joint might have a Juma joint cap but the pin is threaded into phenolic................... Kim

juma is not soft.......... it machines well ... does not crack or chip.............. gives a nice hit................. on butts, joints, or ferrules Kim

CF shafts come with 3 finishes that I know of.............. a gray shinny paint.... a matt finish........ and no finish.................... I you totally mess up the finish............ just wet sand all the finish off.............. I buy my blanks with no finish.......... I sand them length...
