2016 AZB Ghost Challenge - Official Thread

You are breaking extremely soft, way too much clustering. You can break about twice as hard and it will still be considered a soft break. On my 10 footer I use a magic rack so the rack is perfectly tight and I break slightly above center hitting the one ball dead on so the cue ball comes back...

Looking forward to watching you play on your new table. Congratulations

Table Difficulty Factor (TDF) for measuring table "toughness"

If your balls are dirty this will make it more difficult to draw. I lightly spray turtle wax on a cloth and wipe the balls, then run them in my ball cleaner to give them a buff. I just learned this last week and you will not believe how easy it is to draw the cue ball, plus the balls do not skid...

I break with my revo cue and it gives me great control when breaking. I still use my predictor jump cue when jumping

    Predator REVO Limited Edition

I love the leather wrap, it gives me a better feel/grip, does not slide on my fingers when I need to pull off a firm stroke. Look at Shane and Earl, both of them have tape where the wrap is to give them a better grip. If you have never tried a cue with a leather wrap I'm sure you will love it...

Hi Gerry, Good to see you back. I'm all fired up and can't wait to hit the practice room with the exams again. This is gonna be fun. We have just under 2 months left with the contest, good luck. I'll be playing in the www.4bearsclassic.com tournament in September. Any chance you'll be there?

    Earl Strickland Did This.....

The donuts are set up for the BU Exam $2500 Challenge. Side Pocket AKA "Scott Brazier" on a 10 Foot Brunswick http://billiards.colostate.edu/BU_challenge.html Like I said, last night was a first time attempt. If I were to spend years, like the Pearl, shooting the shot I'd make it look easy too...

    Earl Strickland Did This.....

Actually you roll the object ball and set the cue ball down so the object ball is rolling straight away in your aim then pick your cut into the corner. Easy!

    Earl Strickland Did This.....

Tonight was the first time I tried it. Spent 15-20 minutes practicing before I recorded it. At first I was rolling it slower than the video shows then I sped it up and it was easier.

Earl did this at the exhibition in Duluth MN, I thought I'd give it a try to see how difficult it really is. It's actually pretty easy. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=nhvjVOTeVkU

Awesome Marc, you can do it. I wish I could compete in the pro level. If there is another contest next year, I hope to be a 700+ and compete in the pro level.

Where should I go to become a Pro.

I agree with Vic and make sure she is aware that pool is #1 on your priority list, if not then forget about becoming a pro. Vic, I posted a 7-0 pro version 8-ball in the ghost challenge. Gonna work on the 10-ball pro version this week and take that spot as well.
