    IMO even if you could achieve this and the break be legal by driving enough balls to the rail, how can you get BIH when your opponent still has the option of a push out.

    So it's not possible to have a deeper channel and use thicker leather, or even a deeper channel and have a leather wrap over a cork/neoprene wrap. Would either of these solutions be achievable and result in a slightly softer feeling handle?
