Fractional aim points and their cut angles

They aren't dumb....they're just generally talented, athletic, etc. Nerds try to turn a physical game into a science and find some solution that will make them play well. Dr. Dave has transcribed a lot of what is going on....but guess what? He is also athletic, and puts the time in. Good players...

Youtube Video - 2024 BCA Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony

I watched this a day ago or so and really enjoyed it. Great job, MCing the event, and I’ve never heard Shane speak so much. It was really moving hearing his stories. Nice! [/MEDIA]

    Buddy Hall

Buddy is one of the most perfect 9 ball players, ever. He said that he wanted to be the best in the world, and he became the best int he world. What a legend! To say that at a point in time you were the best in the world at something, wow, what an accomplishment. And he was considered one of the...

    DCC Action thought.

Agree to disagree. I enjoyed watching those first guys play it. (Pony Tail guy vs Reyito Crew guy). I could see the younger guy was stealing....but it was a fun match to watch.

I have to respectfully disagree. That is an important rule that supports the better player. It enforces the need for both cue ball and object ball control and the need to have a true plan before you get down on the shot. I’d love to see Efren play it.

Very true...I can definitely understand someone finding it boring.

    Richard Black Merry Widow

I love this cue! I've been itching for an old RB cue for years...steel joint, player.

    DCC Action thought.

It appears I'm in the minority here....I enjoy one ball one pocket. Great action game when each game is expensive. It can also be very tactical when you have two good players competing at it. Just my .02.

    Quality of affordable cues...

I knew a good player in Richmond, VA who had a Lucasi from the first wave, when Buddy Hall was sponsored....and it hit as crispy as any steel joint custom cue. He made alot of money with that cue.

    Quality of affordable cues...

I just wanted to say that I am extremely impressed at the quality of modern "affordable" cues. From Nick Varner, to Action, Players...and another brand - Griffin. I've been a bit of a cue snob for years, however, I will say that I've known some champion level players who used inexpensive cues...

    Techniques

Certain shots (jump, long off the rail, long/tough) I look at the cue ball last before delivery and that has really improved my shot making.

    Laying It Down

So, is that a NO...you don't lay it down?

Can playing with a 11.75 shaft make you better?

Oh, I know...LOL....11.75 and low deflection and his game would be even better.

Can playing with a 11.75 shaft make you better?

I see what guys like Tony Chohan do with normal shafts...I go back to, it's always more the archer than the arrow. You could also reference Efren...and many of the greats from the past. I will say that I believe many of them preferred smaller tips and tapers (like 11.75 or even smaller). I...

Do carbon fiber cue shafts make custom cues obsolete?

I've owned several Scruggs over the years. High end ebony with ivory boxes.....another 4 pointer with inlays I bought from Tim at his shop (nice memory)..and may sneakies. You're comparing apples and oranges. You're comparing "price" and inferring that the higher price makes it a better player...

    Joss cues

You really can't. I hit with a new one a few days ago just to test it out and it played fantastic.

    Low Deflection Shaft

At 7 months into the game I wouldn't worry abut whether it is carbon fiber or wood, nor would I advise you to take some particular stance just. YES, a good player can play with anything. They'll play better with cues they are comfortable and confident with. Also, good players aren't rigid...they...
