A New Pool game...? Yes... Look inside...

I think the question is: does there need to be a new game? What itch is it scratching? It's hard to come up with something completely new. Kill the King is completely new. The problem is that it's too much chess and not enough actual pool. A lot of new games will say, "It's based on 9 ball...

    Repetitive Stress Injury from Pool?

It's not that hard to understand. You can stress a tendon by repeating the same move over and over. It happens to tennis players, ping pong players, it can happen to pool players, it used to happen to carpenters swinging a hammer all day long before nail guns were invented. A simple google...

    Repetitive Stress Injury from Pool?

I got tennis elbow from playing too much. Had to lay off for a while and use a theraband. Now I put a cold pack on it if I play for more than an hour or so. You can definitely get repetitive stress injury from anything. At 82, I think you can get it from tying your shoes.

A New Pool game...? Yes... Look inside...

I have a feeling they're a little more "proprietary" about their stuff than you. What if it turns out to be Kill the King?

HOW WOULD YOU PLAY THIS POSITION?

One of those positions where there is no clear answer. A bunch of options and none is all that great, all very touchy. Which one is least likely to leave you fucked tight against the yellow in the corner with the red on the same side? I have to shoot this again and see what the leave is, I'm...

HOW WOULD YOU PLAY THIS POSITION?

That youtube shot is pretty snazzy, but yeah the percentage seems low. I think I would play Left side of the red thin to come up short long short. I needed a touch of left. Big ball in the corner. I tried thin left side of yellow and come around 4 rails S/L/S/L to the red. Not bad either...

    Jump Shots

But have you ever seen one in an actual tournament? Especially a pro tournament? I never have. Right, it almost seems like it's taboo in 3C. I feel like there would be a big reaction from the audience if Caudron hopped a ball during a tournament.

    Jump Shots

I was looking through one of Byrne's books and he has a small section talking about jump shots in 3-C. I believe they're legal so long as the wood of the rail doesn't get touched, is that right? I'm talking about in actual tournament game play, not artistic demonstrations and the like. I...

    Banking with the beard?

They weren't sure if what is in the book is a duplication of what they already have. I suggested they could take a look before they buy it.

It's floating around in PDF form. You can take a look at it and see if there's anything not in the DVD. https://pdfcoffee.com/banking-with-the-beard-pdf-free.html

    Texas One Shot

I would just ditch the whole 9 ball angle and put the cue, 1 and 9 on the table and make it free game billiards on a pocket table. It's just harder than normal because the pockets basically block some shots that you could make on a billiards table. I guess the trade off is you can win on...

    Texas One Shot

If pocketing balls other than the 9 has no advantage, I don't see why I would bother pocketing balls. If the focus is on "moving the 9", then I would just focus on that. It's free game billiards with more blocking balls. I would just play caroms until some easy combo on the 9 came up. The...

    Texas One Shot

I don't get it, do you have to sink all the other balls before the 9? As long as I hit the lowest ball first, can I pocket the 9 at any time? Your rules write up is the most confusing thing I've read in a long while. Terrible idea. Just explain the rules. Saying it's based on 9 ball BUT is...

    Texas One Shot

More Complicated Texas One Shot? Yeah, this seems weird. It's basically free game billiards except at the end you pocket one ball. There doesn't seem to be any incentive at all to pocket anything. If you pocket a few balls and miss the 9, you just freed up the table for the other guy. I...
