I just upgraded from my Canon A650IS to a Nikon D3000. Both are great cameras but I wanted interchangeable lenses and bigger glass. I'm giving up 2 mega pixels or so but don't ever blow up over 11x17. I get the new camera delivered in the next few days, I feel like a kid just before christmas...
I find it easier to use the point where the two balls touch to determine where the tangent line will be.
I also use the cue inline with and overtop the two object balls, it is easier for me to see an imaginary perpendicular line comming off the cue.

The way you have the diagram set up I can not duplicate the miss, it's too close to the pocket.
But. . .
Here is my understanding of what is happening. When two balls are frozen and they are struck with a not rotating cue ball they will move slightly in the direction of force before seperating...
I find playing at home by myself almost a chore. I have four runs over fifty (52, 54, 56 and 60) all were at a pool hall, during competition and all but the 60 were during league matches. I play much better during competition, than when practicing.

Not so lucky. The sub-rails are full length. I needed to get 118" rubber so it could be cut to the proper length. My mechanic says the rail needs to be recut.

I have a table at home. I bought it sight unseen. Fast forward 3 months. . .I have the table set up and my mechanic calls me down to the basement and askes if I know how big the pockets are. Then he shows me 3 7/8" corner pockets! The previous owner was a one-pocket player. I love the table but...
Sorry, that puts me out. Too many on here that run high double digits and low hundreds. The idea of a place to post high runs is nice. But not at a cost.
