    Most underrated cuemakers?

Tesla hasnt been around long enough nor produced enough cars to be judged yet IMO... 20+ or so years from now if they're still in business I may have an opinion... You can have it then if I'm still around. As for Ford and Chevy, having worked on them both professionally for 17 years and...

    Most underrated cuemakers?

Before you can be underrated you have to be around long enough and have an extensive body if work to consider to not be thought of to be so...Meaning you have to be known by many but not recognised. Those not around long enough to establish their work have not been around long enough to be...

    Most underrated cuemakers?

IMO too many dont understand what "underrated" in this situation means... IMO it means a maker who is VERY WELL known AND is/was VERY active building cues that does not receive the amount of recognition they should. Using that criteria as a guide, the "most" underrated IMHO are Pete...

what would it be like if da vinci designed pool stuff?

As he did in at a minimum some of his other work, he would have used "the divine proportion" regularly if not exclusively... If he was alive today he'd have at least few others making cues who understand why.

Scott erwin is a hack! Dont use him for cue work!

There's only a few I would trust with refinishing a valuble cue that wasn't their own. Pete Tascarella, Dennis Searing, Keith Josey, Joe Gold, Bob Manzino, John Showman, Barry Szamboti, and Randy Mobley and a few of those dont really work on others cues. If neither of them will do it, I...

What to do with a warped Huebler

A new handle AND rewrap for $150?? Did I read that right? No maker I know would do that repair for that cheap and I wouldn't go to anyone who would unless I knew them personally and they were doing me a favor. You'd get what you pay for...

    Why a new cue?

Again, I've played with many early McDermott cues. I think they played terrible...still do. That's my opinoin. If you like yours I'm happy for you.

    Why a new cue?

Old McDermott cues played terrible.. IMO. That's my experience... I played with many in the 80's and early 90's and still own an 90' merry widow I bought for my wife because she loves the color purple and that was it... They were production cues trying to compete with Meucci and IMHO lost...

(See my highlight in red)....No disrepect intened but.... No, you may not know "cheap Chinese" when (you/we) see it".. at least in this case. First your comment is very derogatory though I know your intentions were positive towards JB... Second, a lot of the issues John is bringing to light...

    My opinion about pool cues

It takes many years. Turnning many times taking off small amounts pur "cut". Even then there are blanks that will not make the "cut" and will be discarded. The shaft creation process in itself is not, by itself, the determining factor to value. Though if a maker does have an extensive process...

    My opinion about pool cues

You did???? I think you failed... You said.... Well both makers have many of the similar build processes that you mentiond except quantity per year. The other differences are "look" (you didn't mention) which is subjective, and then there's the fact that one doesn't have anywhere's near the...

    Szam inspired Mottey

Sure but these look like they're deteriorating somewhat. I was thinking they were nickle silver rings but maybe they're not or the conditions the cue was stored in was not optimum to say the least.. I'm agree a good refinish would make them look new though.
