    Szam inspired Mottey

Yeah I'm curious about those rings too. Also those shaft pilots are not his style. His were more like Gus and George with perfectly rounded brass into the maple tounge... From the date sig on the forearm it's an earlier example though so that could explain that.

    Unknown (vintage?) cue

You saw this cue being built a few years ago?... Wow....Well if that's true, I guess "rob" should, at minimum, re-evaluate his finishing skills.....

    My opinion about pool cues

Gus was asked in the 80's of all the cuemakers making cues then the maker who's work he admired most? He said Pete Tascarella. Good choice. As for why Dean bought a plain Szamboti hoppe for 3 fold over a nice fancier cue he bought from Bob R., well imho thats easy. It has nothing to do with any...

    John Barton us open ban

I thnk John's focus isn't on the use of his "look". He may not be happy about it but he prabably figured it would happen at some point. I think what John is saying is he thinks it illegal (underhanded at minimum) to advertise such product as having a retail price eqaul to what his cases sell for...

    Straight Grain

I'm as big a fan of clear straight grain as any. It's my favorite wood in a forearm base for traditional pointed cues. Yeah it looks good and works well towards playability but my favorite reason also is it allows the focus to be on the prong work. Some nice examples shown here.

70's Verl Horn Balabushka Tribute-Burton Spain Blank

LOL...Then why would it being or not being a Spain blank matter for you then??

70's Verl Horn Balabushka Tribute-Burton Spain Blank

Imo, whether Verl used a Burton blank is insignificant to this cue for what little $ is being asked. Good maker, good look, good condition, great price = no brainer for someone looking for a vintage classic cue.... Buy it! On a side note, it also looks to me that black acrylic was used for...

I got the call! Southwest Cues!

Very sad but actually whether intended or not, those cues being unavailabe to future orders will be another reason why their non inlaid cues will continue to be in demand.

I got the call! Southwest Cues!

Anyone know if South West will take an order for an inlaid cue?

I got the call! Southwest Cues!

I'd get an inlaid cue but if that's not an opition Ebony and either Coco or Rosewood.. Green goes good with all those woods imo. Congrats Matt!
