I believe Shane and I are going to try to make this one. It's my birthday weekend so why not spend it playing pool :) We are probably going to get a group together to go golfing on Friday somewhere in Houston...anyone that wants to join let me know so I can make enough tee times for all of us.

    WPBA Board Elections

Good luck to all the ladies at the Pacific Coast Classic! Regretfully, I will not be able to make it to the elections. I had planned on attending the elections tomorrow at the Player Meeting but due to the recent hurricane that hit Texas, my plans had to be changed. I plan large legal...

    A question...

Shayla, You guys are a great example of a pool playing couple that works! So many couples effect each other in a negative way but you guys really balance each other's needs well. I've dated guys that play and guys that don't and there is always going to be complications centered around pool...

    Shafted/US Amateur qualifier

I think APA nationals always has problems with the local tournament directors making their own decisions about things that were advertised differently by APA. 2 years ago at my qualifier the players were complaining about waiting around so long between matches so he allowed some matches to take...

Best Serious POOL HALL IN AUSTIN, TX AREA?

Austin doesn't have any snooker tables anywhere that I can think of. The room with the best equipment hands down is G-Cue Billiards (north Austin). They have 14 or 16 9ft Brunswick Gold Crown IV's with aramith pro balls and measle cue balls. All of their tables just got refelted for the Texas...

APA 9 Ball Players...What's your handicap

I am a skill level 8 and I find that the opposite is true in my matches. I would rather play an established 1 or 2 over a 4, 5 or 6. Yeah you are giving up a lot more weight and a 1 or 2 can luck in a few balls but as long as you are controlling the table well it's A LOT easier to protect a...

    SVB in the Philippines?!?

I could be wrong but I'm pretty sure they played again the next night and Shane won his money back. From what I hear there are a lot of great matches going on in those poolrooms over there right now and the WTBC hasn't even started yet. Should be a good one!

getting the shaft by my apa operator!!!!!!!

The Vegas trip is precisely why I play BCA now and not APA. I've been to Vegas for both APA and BCA and BCA is just on a completely different level. Most local BCA leagues also give away a trip to vegas at the end of each session but instead of just paying out $1 of each person's weekly fees...

getting the shaft by my apa operator!!!!!!!

$35/week in Austin...although I quit APA a long time ago...the BCA and TAP leagues in this area pay out much more of the weekly fees to the players than the APA does. I understand APA is a business so they have to keep more of the money but I prefer the leagues that give more back to the...

    Iris Ranola

I met Iris (and her sister) in Virginia this year at a Tiger Pool Tour Stop and she was such a sweet person--they both were! I didn't get to watch many of her matches but she did pretty well in the Open event that weekend as well as winning the Ladies qualifier. I can't comment on her play (or...

That sounds like your internet is too slow for the video feed. It does the same thing on my computer at home but my work internet shows it clearly without having to refresh.

Shane Van Boening to Play in Waco, Saturday!!!

Shane has visited a school for the deaf before and made presentations there. I believe there is an article in one of the pool magazines about it but I can't remember which one. He seemed to enjoy the Texas Open. After he won the hot seat match he was so pumped up. I was surprised to see him...
