Does the Joint Protector help to protect the joint??

I disagree. If the pin gets offset even a fraction of an inch, it can affect the way the cue plays. Knowing that, there are several ways a person could bump/drop their cue on the pin to incur such damage. Conversely, I think it would take a hell of a lot of force to destroy a joint cap AND...

Does the Joint Protector help to protect the joint??

To add onto what Cheez Dawg said, it also provdes protection from moisture around the pin or in the insert. If someone votes 'No' on this, I'm going to need a heck of an explanation from them.

    Free Jump Cue

Thanks, Scott. And thanks to everyone else for the kind words as well. I've gotten a lot from AzB and this is one way I'm able to give back.

What are your favorite AZBilliards threads?

I absolutely LOVE the "Show Us Your Home Rooms" thread. To this day, it's my favorite. A close runner-up is the "Pool Hall Photos From All Over" thread.

Do you have a tiny shaft?

Who have you been talking to? My ex-girlfriend? Okay, don't listen to her. She was really mad when we broke up and she's been spreading rumors ever since!

    Free Jump Cue

Yes, you read that correctly. I have a jump cue that I replaced a few months ago with a new one, and I have absolutely no use for it. I put it up for sale a while back, but didn't get any takers. (Here is the link to the original thread I started. It contains pictures and a description of...

Like to Buy a $3,000 Cue for $500!

This made my day. It really, really did. Thanks, Steve. I haven't had a good laugh in a couple days. I needed that.

Who's your favorite player to watch?

Corey Deuel. He's just so smooth and creative sometimes. He takes risks, and has a very strong game.

    Pool Cue Give Away!!!

I shot you a PM about this. :) I didn't want my grammar Nazi-ism to spiral out of control and take over yet another thread! :p

    Pool Cue Give Away!!!

Only because I like to nit-pick ... the ad should read "Win An Ultra Pete" not "Win A Ultra Pete." Since Ultra begins with a vowel, it should be accompanied by "an" rather than "a." With that being said, I rarely trust ads with incorrect grammar and spelling. It's just the elitist jerk in me...

    best all around player ever

How about we agree that it's very subjective and basically impossible to determine a true answer to the OP's question? Now we can all get back to the important things in life, like Oreos and marathons of Law and Order SVU on USA all weekend.

What is the best 8 ball advice you've ever gotten?

"Miss less often." Kidding. I was once told that which set of balls you choose after the break can be the deciding factor between winning and losing.

How to find Pool rooms in a location!

And everyone in Houston has a different opinion about which room(s) they like, so those who inquire are right back to square one. Don't get me wrong, if someone came on here and asked said, "I'm trying to decide between ____ and ____ pool halls in Houston, what do you think?" I wouldn't have...

How to find Pool rooms in a location!

You can also type things like "Pool hall, Wilmington" or "Billiards, Springfield" to find your pool hall. Anything is better than seeing a half dozen threads titled "Any pool halls near _____" every single day.

    Am I in the wrong?

I think the only thing wrong about that story is that you wrote it all in one sentence. Seriously, that was difficult to read.

    Performance shafts and butt choice

I like it to be round, and have a little substance to it. I can't stand those flat ones that are barely noticeable. I don't need to be able to set a drink on it, but I at least want to be able to see it in jeans from across the room. It's gotta have presence. We're talking about asses right?
