    Bar box...how big?

First English Billiards died, now snooker seems to be in terminal decline from its heyday of the 70s and 80s. It seems that the younger generations simply do not have the attention-span to play such games? If it's not full of light, noise, wild action/movement, drama, and fast...

    ivory balls????????

If they're older than 1950 then it's quite possible.

Best in the world. Without a doubt.

Really, really amazing. Some shots seem to defy the laws of physics. Most impressive for me is where he massés an already moving ball and forces it change direction/momemtum to pocket a ball. I wonder how many table cloths he went through when he first started learning these shots? ;)

Man, that really is a toy. What next, this? :

Should There be a seperate forum for the BB?

Don't agree with a separate forum, but I think it would be useful to make a STICKY where players give advice on switching between barboxes and full-size tables. There have already been a number of such threads.

What Kamui Black Tip Do You Like Best & Why?

Got a Kamui Black Soft on my new Predator cue. Too early yet to say what I think of it, but it spins the CB well. And holds chalk extremely well.

    Pool Or Snooker?

AND cue-ball control for breakbuilding. AND strategy/pattern play for the same reason. I'm a pretty good potter, but I'm mediocre at best on a 12ft table when it comes to making runs. The reason is snooker is more than just about potting, it's also about positioning and breakbuilding.

    Pool Or Snooker?

Yup. Or at least, a lot more dedication/practice in order to get "good".

    Your Favorite Book for 8-Ball

I'm currently reading Capelle's "Play Your Best Pool". So far finding it excellent, but it also contains quite many obvious typos, grammar errors etc. Worst is the old favorite "it's" instead of "its". How often do we see this, generally?? It seems the author does not care to have someone check...

    Phenolic > leather tip?

Anyone got a break cue with a phenolic tip who changed it to a leather tip? I'm thinking of doing this. The phenolic tip doesn't hold chalk well, increases the chance of a miscue/poor contact, and I'm not convinced it actually improves my break. I also cannot use it as a player when needed...

How many of you guys think that you have good fundamentails?

My fundamentals suck. I take the (enlightened?) view that if you cannot down a straight-in ball at least 95% of the time, from whatever distance, your fundamentals are letting you down.

how do you prefer to jump?

Yet one that requires special equipment to do it well... Among other things it's, IMHO, a cheap way of getting out of a well-played snooker by your opponent.

how do you prefer to jump?

If this flying-CB chicanery represented a tenet of your Christian faith in the Middle Ages, you jumpers would be burnt at the stake for heresy! :)

how do you prefer to jump?

It's OK so long as the CB stays on the table surface.

    APA Cue??

On the APA site there was until very recently a poll asking players to state what branded APA products they would like to see. An APA cue won the poll by some way (as far as I can tell).

how do you prefer to jump?

IMO it's against the spirit of cue sports to contrive to make the CB leave the table bed. It should roll, not fly.
