Hi Jennifer. I will be shipping the new cue for the benefit sometime this week. It looks like UPS is the best way to ship. I will send to address in your email. Thanks, Roger Pettit
I used Lincoln neutral shoe polish in the 80s. Now I never put any wax on the shafts I build. Shaft is sealed with sanding sealer then I burnish with an index card. Stroke with the grain until your hand gets too hot. Smooth as glass.
If your cue is wrapped, the underwrap may be the problem. If cue is worth it, rebuilding is a possibility. I have seen some ugly wood in the underwrap, and it is not sealed completely with a wrap.
Slipped my mind. Had one of your cues in my shop recently. Cocobolo with Ebony points. Just matched a Z shaft to the butt. I noticed your core. May be more stable than Keilwood. Nice finish and perfectly pressed linen. First cue of yours I have seen. Very impressive.
Maybe screw in and screw back out a few times. May have some glue somewhere on the screw. Heat screw with propane torch to break it loose. Seems like it should come out.
