    cue maker questions

As someone that has just recently started building cues, the way things are going in this forum suck. On the point thread, I can see myself asking the same type of question. I've actually had that happen, but was able to find the same info on a fix by doing a search through the old posts. It...

    oil finish

Those of you that have used/use an oil finish on sneaky's, what grade paper do you sand down to before you apply the finish? Do you follow the instructions on that particular oil or do you sand down to 2000 or more? Thanks.

what tips are your customers using the most and what tips come standard on your cues?

My standard tip is a Wizard Medium. That's the most popular tip with my customers now. I also install a lot of Moori softs.

Problems threading a ferrule... Need some advice...

Bee wax, and backing out to clear chips every few turns will help. Spin the chuck by hand, it takes longer but you have more control.

    White Diamond vs Samsara?

I've tried both. The WD is harder and easier to jump with, but with less control. Now, if you practice you can get used to controlling the cue ball with the WD. But, they are banned now in some leagues/pool halls, and soon I think it will be that way everywhere. So, if you want to get used...

    Wizard cue tips

They are my #1 selling tip, haven't had a single complaint. I've been using them on my personal cue for over a year, and have no plans of switching. I offer my customers that want Moori's the option of trying a Wizard and if they don't like it I'll put a Moori on for the difference in price...

Switching to a low deflection shaft, pros and cons?

In my experience generally if someone is using solid shafts, and they get a new cue they are going to use the shaft that came with the cue. You are correct, you could just use the same solid shaft on a different butt. What about when it's time for a new shaft though (old one broke, wore down...

Switching to a low deflection shaft, pros and cons?

One other thing to consider, if you're the type that likes to get new cues fairly often, shooting with a LD shaft makes things easier. Buy a new cue with the same joint as your old cue, you just use your LD shaft and you don't have to relearn a shaft. I have numerous cues with the same joint...

    Best Cue-Tip For Table Speed?

I have two shafts (predators) for my shooting cue, I have one that I keep a softer tip on, and one with a hard tip on. Fast tables I shoot with the softer tip, slow tables I shoot with the harder tip. I usually hit a rack or two before I start playing, and that is enough to adjust to table...

    Pool and Girlfriends / Wives

When I met my wife she had never picked up a pool cue. I had a table at home, so we played a few games here and there. Eventually she started coming to tournaments with me to watch. Well, she got bored with watching and decided she wanted to shoot in the league tournaments so she had...
