    price for tournament repair biz

What would you guys consider a fair price for the following setup. 2 older porper lathes, 2 willards tip machines, misc hardware associated with above machines. Also, the business name, and the in with a vendor that has you work 4 to 6 tournaments a year. Tournaments are local tournaments...

    Tip question

The white gorilla glue works good. I've never had a problem with Loctite gel either. Most all popped off tips I've ran accross are either a ferrule that doesn't glue well, or one of the surfaces isn't completely flat. Not saying your doing it wrong, just letting you know what I've ran into.

    Day Before Tournament

My routine is as follows. Two days before the tournament I'll play for 2 to 3 hours, normally like to have some competition, not just practicing by myself. The day before I don't touch a cue. If I have a chance I'll throw a video of a good match in that night before bed. The day of, I like...

    Hightower DvD's A+! Cue Components dvds, C-

Chris's finishing video is great. This video is a must for anyone thinking about cue building, or any newer builder having trouble with finishing.

    new tip reviews

Chris, How does the samsara break tip compare to the super pro's hardness wise? Do you prefer one over the other for a J/B? I use to take a water buffalo and cut it down pretty thin for those that wanted a super hard leather tip. Now I have started putting on Super Pro's and have had positive...

    new tip reviews

Another vote for the Wizard M's. Everyone that I've talked into trying them comes back to tell me how much they like them. I just hope they don't come out with a new version and ruin them like so many others have done before.

    wood selection for best performance

I agree with Marcus, I'm just not a fan of purple heart for it's looks. I do like the hit though.

    best price on cloth.

There is a place out of Wisconsin that sells on ebay, they have the best prices that I've found. I can't remember the name off the top of my head, sorry. But if you look on ebay they always have a lot of listings.

    Brown Bumper order

I don't understand why RF is getting attacked trying to do something good. For those of us that have had to pay $20 for a brown bumper, the $5 price he's offering feels like stealing. I know he's going to make some profit, and that's fine. That's how business works. If you don't feel that...

    J&J quick release

I thought of that. He wants to keep the original shaft as is, otherwise I would just do like I normally do which is change the ferrule and tip, and make some adjustments. I think I'm going to tell him to buy a second shaft on ebay and I'll make the adjustments to that one. Cheaper for him and...

Does anyone know where I can get pins and inserts like the ones used in J&J J/B's? I have a customer that wants a new shaft made. Thanks.

    What is your cue tip?

I like tips in the soft to medium range. I use a pressed elk master on one shaft and a Wizard M on another. The pressed elk master will mushroom a little once or twice and after that they are done. They play great, no miscue's, lots of english, touch shots are easy. The Wizard M are the...

    question for cuemakers

I agree, I try everything myself first. Here is a situation that I think would describe what I mean better. I've used jump cues for quite a few years now. I can pick up a jump cue and jump with it, no doubt about it. Some are better than others, but I can make any of them work. Now, lets...

    question for cuemakers

Arnot Roger Sward, Southern MN, repair guy starting to branch out into building some stuff (shafts, jump cues, extensions). I have enough requests to keep me busy for the next 3 months considering I don't have a lot of free time to build things. The time I do have is used for any repair work...
