Who's the best TV pool commentator

Mark Wilson is the second best commentator. He's educated, well-spoken and possesses tremendous knowledge of all games...But Billy I. is still five times better than that guy.

SVB sportin' a GLOVE in Nicaragua!!!

Even if that is the case, which I'm not saying that it is, the real man in question would surely never wear a periwinkle blue glove, right? ;)

New tar room (you people need to recognize)

Wow, this guy sounds at least as drunk as me, perhaps even more so. A few insights: 1: I most definitely recognize. TAR is awesome. 2: Nits on AZ will only drive you crazy if you let them. 3: I don't think the Germans bombed Pearl Harbor, but it's entirely possible that someone has tinkered...

SVB sportin' a GLOVE in Nicaragua!!!

That's fuggin funny! There are worse people that one could be compared to than Earl... I am kind of one of the, "I maybe kind of wear a glove sometimes" crowd. I don't like it, but it's better than the alternative of having your cue squeak through your fingers. Some people's hands sweat, yo...

The Break - Ball in Hand after the Break and the Five Ball

I am also 105x4, fwiw. :) Also, whose fault is it that Earl was better prepared? Shane had plenty of time to prepare for the match, if he didn't do an adequate job, that's on him. The super giant cue was ridiculous, but I'll bet Earl made at least a few shots that he wouldn't have been able to...

ABP or Barry Behrman Escrow account

"Yo Gabba Gabba" is like crack for children...I don't know what it is, but for some reason it hypnotizes them to the point that their parents can get some much needed peace and quiet. I prefer "Fairly OddParents" if I'm forced to actually watch the show. ;)

The Break - Ball in Hand after the Break and the Five Ball

I've seen Efren run a couple of 100's playing straight pool...He shoots crazy shots, like banking the break ball cross side and going two rails into the stack. Mosconi's runs were always boring, predictable and repeatable. :) I think Efren gets the nod in every discipline except for straight...

The Break - Ball in Hand after the Break and the Five Ball

I think SVB plays better on Diamonds than Earl. I don't think he's a better all around player. It's hard to call when one player is 50 and the other is 27, it's kind of like the argument of who's the best between Efren and Mosconi..nobody will ever know.

The Break - Ball in Hand after the Break and the Five Ball

My argument is not invalid because no standardization exists in professional pool...no matter what country you're talking about. We play on different brands of tables, different pocket sizes, different pocket angles, etc. If every match that was ever played was on a 9' Diamond Pro-Am, then your...

The Break - Ball in Hand after the Break and the Five Ball

I will say that I understand your point, I just think you're wrong. If SVB was a better player than Earl, he would be able to adjust to different conditions better than Earl. That's a huge part of being a pool player, and that's another reason why your basketball analogy falls flat. B-ball...

The Break - Ball in Hand after the Break and the Five Ball

Ronnie is probably the best ball pocketer in the world. He doesn't know the game of 9 ball as well as the better 9 ball players in the world, so I believe he would lose more often than he won against the great players of today. However, if you gave Ronnie the knowledge that Earl possesses, no...

The Break - Ball in Hand after the Break and the Five Ball

It's funny how you just agreed with me without even realizing it. If you exchanged the name Bowman with SVB, and barbox to 9 footer, we're both saying almost the same thing. As far as your basketball analogy goes, I would say that whoever puts down the most shots on the 12 footer is the more...

The Break - Ball in Hand after the Break and the Five Ball

Two questions: 1. Was Shane playing on the same table as Earl? 2. What was the final score? The guys who would like to place an asterisk next the "W" beside Earl's name are probably the same guys who lose to someone on a bar box and then say, "Yeah well, I could beat him on a nine footer." Do...

Ha. Ha. Ha. Gotta love consistency.

Pattern-racking? Is there such a thing?

    Here's the pattern I use when playing rack your own: 1 2 X X 9 X 8 X X Here's the one for loser racks: 1 8 X X 9 X 2 X X And I make no apologies. :) (Also, the racks I posted were shaped perfectly when I typed them, but the forum software crammed them together. Not my fault.)
