    VNEA valley pockets

I don't perform much research/testing on table pockets other than occasionally setting two balls between the points. Regardless, in my experiences with Valley tables, they are the easiest tables I have ever played on as far as pocketing balls is concerned.

WTB Inexpensive butt (only) 5/16x14 thread

I'm still looking. Not any luck on here (or Ebay). I don't even know who in the dallas/Ft. Worth area does cue work any more.

    Crical Pro- great Amazon deal

Yep. But...why shouldn't they be? At least the newbies could start out with a CF, low deflection shaft. Back in the day, Players, Action, and Viper cues were the starter cues. IMHO, at least these cues are a step up from those. Have you seen today's prices on the Players/Action cues? It's...

    Crical Pro- great Amazon deal

The two I ordered both had the leather grip. I like your wrapless model. The choices change weekly. I suppose because of avalability. I was pleasantly surprised at the overall quality of such an inexpensive cue, made (I assume) in China or Vietnam. The overlays were nicely done, I cannot find a...

    Interesting 8 ball rule question

In the APA rule book, it states that a ball that is moved before the shot is taken MUST be moved back to its original positional prior to the shot being taken. It's a good rule. APA got SOMETHING right. 🤔

Iowa 2025 - Ultimate Pool USA

Surely you've heard of the shot clock, right??? ;) Why couldn't they incorporate the same shot clock system Ultimate Pool uses into the 9-ball tournaments? I'm pretty sure THAT would speed things up!

    Ultimate Pool USA

Also makes it harder to figure out the proper shot and everything that needs to go into that shot. Sloppy pool starts showing up. I don't hate the Ultimate Pool format, I just pefer a good ol' nine or ten-ball race to 11 with a 30 second shot clock.

    Crical Pro- great Amazon deal

My personal (and humble) opinion is that the posters that bought the less expensive cues ($129-&159 range) did not get as good a cue as you would have gotten if you had purchased the $189 CXD Series Pro models. Without a lot of table time on the CXD model I purchased, so far I cannot find a...

2025 Mosconi rosters - Euro changes a coming

I feel the same way as you, Jen. Nowadays, I'm going to find the Reyes Cup far more interesting and my only watch.

    Ultimate Pool USA

I absolutely love the fact that the 30-second shot clock is in use. I wish all pool tournaments could find a way to implement this. What I don't like is the time limit for the match. I don't like that the player in the lead can literally stall (by taking the whole 30 seconds on shots that could...

    Crical Pro- great Amazon deal

This was my review from another thread. I purchased one of the $189 CXD models: Cue came about an hour ago. It was everything as advertised (almost). The fit was perfect. The finish was nice. It rolled dead straight. Tip measured (with dial calipers) at exactly .5", which comes to 12.7mm on an...

    CRICAL carbon fiber shaft review.

Cue came about an hour ago. It was everything as advertised (almost). The fit was perfect. The finish was nice. It rolled dead straight. Tip measured (with dial calipers) at exactly .5", which comes to 12.7mm on an inches to millimeters conversion chart. It surprised me because it appeared to be...

    CRICAL carbon fiber shaft review.

It is different (on purpose). The one your above post is showing is the same cue I ordered, but wrapless. I ordered a model with a leather grip. The overlays (decals) on the one I ordered are a tad more intricate (IMO). The picture of the cue I ordered no longer is showing up on the Amazon...

    CRICAL carbon fiber shaft review.

I've got one coming tomorrow. The $189 model CXD Pro series. 12.5 tip, 58", pro taper, 3/8x8 SS joint leather wrap. They gave me some kind of discount, so, out the door for $182. After I shoot with it for a day or two, I'll post a short review.

The beautiful thing about buying off of Amazon is that you can just send it right back for a refund/Amazon credit if you don't like what you bought. How simple/convenient is that?

WTB Inexpensive butt (only) 5/16x14 thread

I do have a cue butt laying around. A cheap Viper 29-incher w/cheap linen wrap. It would do for what you suggest if I knew a person in the D/FW area that would change the pin out. Maybe tomorrow, I'll do a little research. Thanks for the idea.

WTB Inexpensive butt (only) 5/16x14 thread

Preferably non-piloted. Needs not to be any kind of custom/inlayed butt, nor have a wrap. Surface scratches/small dings perfectly fine. I'm going to use it for a break cue to pair up with a Pechauer Black Ice shaft. A picture would be nice and please quote me a firm price. Thanks

Anyone clean their tips on the carpet before putting it back in the case?

Before I even screw my cues together, I get a short stack of drink napkins from the bar to not only set my drinks on, but also to wipe my tips off with after the play is concluded. If someone has taken my napkins, or on the rare night I've forgotten to get some, I have wiped my tips on the...
