    Dowel mill

Here is the way I get handles from Joe. 20" long sanded round and smooth. I got a box in my spay room with the last order I made with Joe and I grabbed 3 and took some pics. Maybe you and Dave are ordering something different. Give Joe a call. I always stock up when he offers the sale...

    High Deflection Shafts

Wendell Weir had a straight pool shaft that was 15mm with triangle tip. He was a center ball player who ran back to back 150 runs in the US Open. Twice!

    Dowel mill

Dave, The handles I buy from Joe from his website are perfectly smooth and round. I put centers on them and take 2 single point light passes on the so they are true centers before coring them. They are a real good deal at 3.75 ea. Rick

    Dowel mill

I would guess Joe puts them through a dowel sander after taking them from square to round. After turning square to round, I single point mine true on the lathe before coring👻 Rick

    Dowel mill

My doweling machine is the least used piece of equipment used in my shop considering the time it is actually used. That being said it saves more time than any equipment I own. 5/4" shaft squares to 1" rounds in 15 seconds. 1.5" X 18" turning squares to in about 10 seconds. No dust or chips...

    Hand planing shaft?

Very cool. Did you have a lathe or did you turn and taper your butts and shafts by hand?

I can't imagine anyone wanting a shaft like that in this day and age with machine technology as it is.

    Amboyna Burl Question

Hi, I peck drill with my gun drill 1" at a time with a 3/4" x 1" relief on the exit end and never drill any wood over 400 rpm. Heat is not your friend. My individual philosophy is if a piece of wood requires stabilization, I won't use it on a cue. If you core Aboyna Burl at low speed with...
