Any private billiard clubs near Sarasota?

Old thread I know and kind of a trek.. I did wind up at the IceHouse in Punta Gorda this past May and they have a 5x10 snooker table. It's a British place with lots of dart lanes. CM's in Seminole has one too. About an hour drive from Sarasota.

    Fusco-Davenport....on now

Billy and Buddy are commentary gold. Could listen to those two all day.

    I visited Dennis Searing

Thanks for sharing your positive experience, but fair warning as you're new, this thread could dissolve into another dumpster fire. The man makes a cue without peer but seems to have a checkered past with service and favoritism.

Best Player that Quit Early on

So much priceless knowledge in this thread. I read the whole thing last night. An old timer here in Florida told me about two girls who played really well and whose Dad was really hard on them, so much that it ruined their joy of playing, so it must have been the Hoffmans.

    Cue weight?

19.25 to 19.5 are what I have settled on. I can go a little lower or higher but 18s or 20s feel too light or too heavy, generally...

CA vs CO - state/cities with most tournaments

I'll take your word for it as I'm on the other coast. The reports I hear say the population is declining but I don't know how officials they are, and they can have some political motivations.

CA vs CO - state/cities with most tournaments

It's hard to imagine pool growing in California with the exodus of people to neighboring states.

Stockholm copenhagen pool halls? Any recommendations?

I visited in 2016 and biljardpalatset as mentioned was a good place to play. Three level place as I remember and tons of tables which played well.

    9' Diamond Pro-Am

Sounds like some great history with that table Jay. Hopefully it goes to a new owner for a long time and they can say this is the table the champions of the early 2000s practiced on while in California.

    Indianapolis area pool halls?

Grew up there but didn't play pool until I left so helpful to see the posts. I researched and Kokomo has a place called Spanky's, the Facebook page says there is a 9ft. Diamond, snooker and billiard table. It's about 40 min. in the other direction from Indy. Let's see if anybody here knows...

    What happened here? (14.1)

Sounds like he called a safety and that's the rule when a ball is pocketed. Comes up from time to time when no good break shot is available.

    Ernie Martinez cues

I get a good deal on one several years back and don't plan to sell it. Awesome cue; design, hit, workmanship.

Top Americans (excluding recent MC Cup pros)

I watched Lukas on a stream from Maryland (?) recently and was impressed with his fundamentals. I agree he has lots of potential.

My first and very likely last real custom cue

Good looking cue, congrats. I like the inlay work. I'm jealous of the snow too, hit 80 degrees here yesterday...

    Arthur Que New?

I agree. I'll watch content on YouTube from Sweden or The Netherlands and the language is near perfect; other than a slight accent you'd never know the presenter isn't British or American or Australian.
