There is a fair bit of info and footage of Chinese 8-Ball out there on the net. The pockets aren't really that small, the good players run out regularly, and the cloth isn't really that slow. However, it's probably a better test of skill than say, playing 9 ball or 10 ball on a 10 foot table...

For snooker players, generally side (english) would be used as a last resort for position play, let alone altering the resultant angle of the impact between object ball and cue ball. So I doubt any snooker players aim with a "touch of anything". ;)

Agreed, a great shot !! Commentators thought it was a Masse as well. He wasn't swerving around an intervening ball either. Ok, so I'll go with Masse "Stroke", and the outcome of the "stroke" was both a combo and a carom. And he definitely knew both were on, as you can see him aim them both...
