Where are all these strange thoughts coming from?

No, but there may be a conspiracy underway to make it happen.

    What a shot!

Watching the rest of this match, I found it interesting that Johnny commentating really got down on Thorsten for the shot he made after John took an intentional foul with the cue ball stuck in the stack. "That was just a horrible shot" Johnny said. "He should have just taken an intentional...

16 Players Put up $2000 each. Race to 21 Who Will win it???

I think it means the flush-mount pocket liners used on newer (2010 and newer) Valley tables. This looks like a great field of players. I wish I could be there.

The Ballad of John and Lou, Part Two

I enjoyed reading parts one and two of the ballad, Lou. You write well, and have a talent for storytelling. Looking forward to part three.

    CTE PRO 1: My review.

I generally stay far away from these aiming threads, but couldn't help myself when I read the statement above that's bolded. The balls are most certainly not the only objective points in the curtain demonstration. Every part of table not covered by the curtain is an objective reference point...

    1963-64 Anniversary Edition Brunswick?

Nice table. Get it set up properly and you'll love it. Keep the red pockets. They likely are original to the table. I'd forget the ball return idea. They are troublesome and expensive.

    Pool Story Thread

This is not a high $ gambling story, but it's true. Many years ago (early '80's), I was in a bowling league at a local King Louie. I was a pretty lousy bowler, but it was a fun handicap league. One night, the league hot-shot -- a real douchebag but a terrific bowler -- woofed and woofed at me...

how are ya'll doing in league ?

I play with my Carmeli on my in-house BCA Scratch league, but generally go to my $59 Players sneaky when I play APA, given some of the dives we travel to. Oh, both teams finished 1st place last sessions. I didn't lose any APA matches (10-0). Funny, considering I wasn't using the high $ custom to...

    Traditional masterpiece Barry Szam

That's a real beauty, Jimmy. And even though I've become partial to wrapless, I agree on the decision to keep the linen. It's classic.

What would you take for your pool playing experiences?

What would I take? Nothing I can think of. My dad introduced me to pool, and it was a bond we had until he died. As a matter of fact, we still have it. I cleaned out some old stuff from his home pool room and brought it to mine, including his cue and some old trophies he had kept. I think...

    The Great Experiment Begins

Well, Danny, not that I couldn't be mistaken, but I have a pretty vivid memory of this. It was a number of years ago at Side Pockets in Blue Springs, on one of the middle tables on the second row from the front. It was during the playoffs in our straight pool league. There was a semi match going...

    The Great Experiment Begins

Best of luck with your experiment, Jay. You're right, it's like learning the game all over again -- at least it was for me. Keep at it and it will click in eventually. I could never play a lick left-handed until a couple years ago, when the regulars at my neighborhood bar started insisting that...
