?? Fix to save 9- Ball ?? Attn: Tournament Directors

There is nothing wrong with the game of 9-ball no matter how many posters on here say there is. Leave the game alone. Quit trying to make the game harder, if anything make the game easier. When ten packs become common, then there will be a need to change the rules. I do not see that...

Calling All Seasoned Players … Are You Ever Surprised?

Having seen and played countless matches in the last 40+ years....I think this quote is appropriate. "People that don't believe in miracles, have never played pool." Robin Adair 1995

Can someone identify the person in the middle of this photo?

Varela might be right....as to the year, I think it was 1993, the year before we kicked off the McDermott National 9-Ball Tour. We did 60 events in '94 and Galaxy Billiards hosted 2-3 a year for the duration of the tour. Always 100+ players in the 9-ball, always a great ladies event, and many...

Can someone identify the person in the middle of this photo?

Mike Varella, aka, Mr. Coffee.....that was taken in San Antonio at Galaxy Billiards. Me and 'Showboat Joe' Cromleigh were recruited to run the event. Don Hoppe was a very gracious host and provided the Legends with limo service to and from the venue.

Passing of a Great - Robert Hempel - Fellini

Sorry to hear this, Bob was a good friend who always had time to discuss the numerous topics we both had interests in. First met him in the early 70's while I was attending UT at the legendary Moyers in Austin, TX. I tried for years to get him back into making cases, but he would politely...

1st 30% 2nd 20 3rd 15 4th 10 5-6 7.5 7-8 5% Standard payout for paying 8 places. We would round the numbers up or down to save having to have a bunch of small bills.

One Pool Shot for ONE MILLION - How Would You Handle the Pressure???

That is a great pic. What the picture doesn't show being almost at eye level with Earl, is that the table was completely surrounded by spectators, 10-20 deep on all sides, and just about everyone in the stands was on their toes. He rifled the ball in....and what followed was complete and utter...

Micro-Grit Shaft Burnishing papers / 3 Different Grades

These work great for a quick slicking of a cue shaft. However, they are primarily to be used by hand. When using them on a lathe, they will melt if the speed is too high.

    Fire away. Long weekend.

OK...I will quiz the master instructor. What are you playing with these days? What is it...

Ages ago International Billiards in Houston, was looking for a solution to make fixing house cue tips and ferrules easier. This machine would cut the tenon for an interesting ferrule design, and the tip had a tenon on the bottom that would be tapped into the ferrule. No glue was needed. The...
