Jimmy Moore on the left, next to him it looks like Luther Lassiter, then an unknown person, then Willie Mosconi, and U. J. Puckett on the right. Who is the guy in the middle?

That guy was a "godfather" out of New Orleans....he came to my pool room one time with an entourage of body guards to gamble one year.....he was a friend of a book maker that hung out at my place in Dallas. He was very well regarded and highly respected from what I can remember.

That is Mr. Coffee! I believe is real name is Mike Carrea. He was actually at the Texas State Open here a couple weeks back. He hasn't changed a bit since I met him some 18 years ago...

He's got to be 90 years old and he still looks good! He's been around forever! GREAT pic by the way! All the rest of those guys are long gone. :embarrassed2:

Mike Varella, aka, Mr. Coffee.....that was taken in San Antonio at Galaxy Billiards. Me and 'Showboat Joe' Cromleigh were recruited to run the event. Don Hoppe was a very gracious host and provided the Legends with limo service to and from the venue.

Thanks for the location ,any idea of the year?
Think its Varela. I could be wrong.

Varela might be right....as to the year, I think it was 1993, the year before we kicked off the McDermott National 9-Ball Tour. We did 60 events in '94 and Galaxy Billiards hosted 2-3 a year for the duration of the tour. Always 100+ players in the 9-ball, always a great ladies event, and many great one-pocket matches for the throngs of fans.

Mr Coffee must be nearing 95 now. People have been saying he's 90 for several years. :D

He contacted me a few years back about doing a bar table tournament down north of San Antonio. To my knowledge it never went off. I think it was gonna be in a bowling alley.

There is no grass growing under this man.

Yup find mr. coffee hanging out at the full moon saloon during tournaments. I asked him if he's ever had any problems with smoking cigarettes since i seen him smoking all the time. He looked at me with this wild look in his eyes and shouted "...what....problems?!......oooohhh noooo.... I've been smoking since WW2!"...................hes the best
