Ivory Tusk for trade... in Tampa area

I like this item. I would leave it just as it is. What kind of value do you place on it?

    veneer rings

Jake, will not matter as the original poster most likely does not have the correct equipment to perform the retrofit. Jim.

Jake, I have used a few of these actuators. They are built nice however I don't like the way they mounted the leadscrews. I ended up replacing them with a better pitch and spring loaded them to one side for backlash issues. Still not a bad way to go though. Jim.

ATC="Automatic Tool Change". In the post that means that the M06 does not call a T code for a Tool as it needs to be changed manually. There is also a general setting in Mach 3 to either ignore M06 or to Feed hold for manual tool change. Jim.

Sorry about that. I use my own creation that was a modification from that post. It may now be a default install it did not use to be. Jim.

This would be a good choice for Mach 3. You will need to foot Bobcad support and download the post. It should automatically save to the correct location for Bobcad. You will have to setup your machine in Bobcad to use that post by default if I remember correctly. Get the correct post installed...

    CNC Advice..

The cue monster is the CNC made specifically for cue building. Also one of the gentlemen responsible for its sale is a member here. You will not have any issues getting support for it. The are now using Mach 3 with there setup and quite a few members here are familiar with that as well. The K2...

    cnc lathe

Gary, the win cnc looks like a nice package. I am concerned withe the PCI hardware. The trouble with technology is that it make hardware like that obsolete fast. Although I have to admit that I have no desire to own a PC that has an operating system past Windows Xp. If you really have a desire...

You should be using mill 2 axes pocket and part. That actually refers to the axes that are moving simultaneously . Typically the Z axis will move into the part then X and Y will move along the tool path. I have never seen that warning though and I am thinking that you do not have the pro version...

One thing I have a question about. How are you going to cut your parts?

    cnc lathe

Well since the spindle that drives the cue was a stepper it could be configured either way. So it is a spindle used as a lathe and a rotary as a mill. For the record the rotary axis is usually A axis and a spindle that positions for side milling is a C axis. Oh and in a real cnc lathe X is...

    cnc lathe

Crossbones is correct. The spindle is not considered an axis. I have actually done inlays on a turning center however it was a three axes machine. The wood turning spindle was a stepper motor that I changed to a rotary axis with mach settings. If you wanted to use just two axes you will need...

    Veneer Rings

Cut the strips of tape into thinner strips. You only need three. 1/8" strips. No load if you know what I mean.

    Veneer Rings

I use my cnc machine. I did try to punch them out with a punch and that did not work so well. On the cnc I hold the veneer with thin strips of double stick tape so I can remove them without ripping them up. Jim
