TWICE-PLUS-TENTHS … The Most Useful Bank Shot Diamond System You’ll Ever Learn

Great system. I recognized that any system really needs an adjustable additive term, but wasn't sure how to really determine it. This is fantastic work. I can't wait to try it out...and then perhaps report back on the "Diamond table effect." One thought: should the system perhaps be called...

DIAMOND SYSTEMS for Aiming LARGE-ANGLE Sliding Bank Shots into Corner and Side Pockets

I was just trying out the two-to-one and 1/3-more-than-twice systems last night on my Diamond (more recent even than blue label; it has a black label). I two to one banked fine for smaller banks (two diamonds or less total) but it started coming up short past that. Then for 1/3 more than twice...

Matchroom Major Event-European Open (8-13 Aug), Fulda, Winner $30K Prizefund $200K

I was surprised, too, given that with appropriate top spin and perhaps a bit of inside he probably could have come straight up-table for the 4. But I think he didn't see any easy/clear path to the 4 (perhaps the angle wasn't quite how it appears on TV, which happens, or he's not too comfortable...

Matchroom Major Event-European Open (8-13 Aug), Fulda, Winner $30K Prizefund $200K

Agreed. I was curious which way he was going to play it, but he was the guy at the table and I doubt he missed seeing the option of playing the 6 straight in. Side pockets start playing very tight as small as they are getting, so if he went for it off the 7 I have to trust he made the right...

Matchroom Major Event-European Open (8-13 Aug), Fulda, Winner $30K Prizefund $200K

Raga was amazing. It was invigorating to see him go down firing. It was an awkward pattern for the last out, and he went offensive and after playing seeing-eye shape on the 5 and drilling it in, he barely missed the carom on the 6. I think we'll be seeing a lot more from him in the future...

Matchroom Major Event-European Open (8-13 Aug), Fulda, Winner $30K Prizefund $200K

At one point, Shane took BIH...and scratched. He had quite a few dumbfounding mistakes. Alcaide looked very strong for most of the match. The finals should be exciting! Who would have predicted these two?

I guess the juniors event is still going on.

Svb vs he is...not a great match so far. Lots of open misses on both sides.

Very uncharacteristic of Gorst. Congrats to Filler.

    Matchroom Board changes

It would be exposure on a world stage where lots of people are watching. I would also be in favor of other cue sports in the Olympics, as well.

    Matchroom Board changes

Ball color choices aside, I think she and Matchroom have done a fantastic job for pool. Question: can she get pool into the Olympics?

    SVB looking away from shot

That was a very impressive demonstration. Years ago, a local shortstop demonstrated to me a sequence that tops even the look-away. He would: 1) Line up a table-length cut shot with an open bridge. 2) Look away and 3) Close his eyes (to ensure there was no peripheral vision stuff going on) 4)...

    Professional pickle ball on tv!😳

I think in both cases, Pickleball and Cornhole, part of the appeal is the ease of entry. They are both much more accessible games than is pool. Cornhole boards are easy to buy/make and can be stored out of the way in a garage while not in use. Pickleball takes a cheap set of paddles and then can...

Finish the sentence: Aramith Black set is the worst thing to happen to pool since...

Agreed. I like the black version of the 9 ball because otherwise it can be easy to mix up the 9/1 or the 9/CB at times, particularly on a phone screen. The black version of the 10 ball is awful because it basically becomes indistinguishable from the 2 on not just small screens, but large ones...

    Dennis Orcollo v Fedor Gorst (9 Ball/ Race to 90) July 30-August 1

I'm indifferent to these long races, as I only find a few with specific players to be interesting. But I have to disagree with this premise. Tournaments have always been about endurance and stamina. The opponent changes every, say, 15-25 racks or so, but players who go deep, particularly in...

    The flukiest of flukes

If the "real" ball bounced around on the table and dropped into that corner pocket then both his head movement and the pocket's shake would be legitimate, even if the actual path of the ball in the video were faked. I have no clue whether it's fake or not and do not have the expertise to judge...

Do you like to watch bad pool games?

I agree with this. I love watching the top pros play fantastically. I do appreciate on some level the occasional reminder that they are human. But, ultimately, I'm there to appreciate the game in its purest and best form, so when they break down it's just disappointing to me. But I also enjoy...

    My Fargorate progression

Mike, can you reconcile the two bolded portions? Does the starter rating influence a person's listed (preliminary) fargo rating or not?
  19. Rocket354

Can I question my Fargo rating?

How much does starter rating influence one's rating? Take two people of equivalent skill but no rating. They each start on a league, but one is given a starter rating of 500 and the other 600. How long would it take for their rating to converge? Is that where the 200 robustness comes from? I...

Finally watch POOL HALL JUNKIES, man what a stinker.

I didn't get more than 5 mins into PHJ. I have no idea where it would rank on any worst-movies list, but it's definitely well below any threshold of being watchable.
