    9' Olhausen F/S

I've got a buddy in Ft. Wayne that might want to buy a table. I sent him this link, and he showed some interest. I'll keep you posted. Just in case he asks: 1. Age of the table? 2. What's the stain on the wood? 3. What type of cloth and how's the condition? 4. Is it set up now, or did...

    Lesson with Mike Arden?

Hey. I just saw this thread. I've taken a couple of lessons with him. I'm somewhere in the banger/beginner to C- range, so take my opinion for what it's worth... I loved my lessons with Mike, and am planning on taking another one soon. Great guy, very knowledgeable, great to work with...

    9' Olhausen F/S

I have the same table in 8 foot pro. This table plays great and looks gorgeous. In my humble opinion it's one of the best looking furniture style tables out there. Good luck with your sale. With this was on the market two years ago when I bought mine new.

    "The Bucket List of Pool"

I haven't been playing that long, so my list is pretty modest: 1. Learn one pocket, bank pool and straight pool. Be able to play them, as well as 8-ball and 9-ball, at a B level. 2. Get a custom sneaky that plays great and one custom of my own design with gorgeous woods that looks and plays...

    Progressive Ghost Drill

Two quick questions: 1. Do you give yourself ball in hand after the break? 2. This may seem like a silly question, and doesn't really matter, but if you're playing, say, the 3-ball ghost, do you use balls 1-3 or 7-9?

Sleeping in your car, a warning

Jay- Sounds like you kept your cool under pressure, and I'm glad you're okay. Let me admit right here that I have to get into work, and haven't read the whole thread. So I apologize if I'm repeating someone else, but here it is. IN MY HUMBLE OPINION YOU SHOULD HAVE CALLED THE POLICE RIGHT...

    So Many New Cue Companies

I am far from the most knowledgeable guy on this board...but here's my two cents. I bought a Viking maple plain jane with a wrap for about $110 or so on sale. I put a 314-2 on it, and love it. Not trying to start the whole LD shaft debate here, but for $300 I've got a cue that has served me...

For all you die hard Brunswick fans!

Nice pics. Two things: 1. I, too, want to retire to that spot. 2. My back hurts a bit just looking at that shot of you handling the slate!

    My table pics...

Thanks for the info. I bought a table two years ago, and went with an 8 foot pro Olhausen Remington. I love it, but sometimes on this board I get the feeling that I'm the only guy without a GC or Diamond with tight pockets!! LOL.

    My table pics...

Just curious...and not trying to hijack the thread... But for those of you guys who sell and/or install home tables: 1. What percentage of your installations in homes are 7 foot? 8 foot? 8 foot pro? 9 foot? 2. What percentage of your installations in homes are furniture style, as opposed...

Tired of playing the same old games?

Can any of you guys explain the Honolulu game a little more, or refer me to some rules online? Could it ever be played as a half rack game, just like there's whole rack and half rack bank pool?

8 ball house rules for my home table?

Thanks for all of the replies. Billyjack- I used your posted rules as a starting point, and tweaked them some. Best of all- I talked my audio/video guy here at work into making it into a professional-looking poster with a pool table background and all. Life is good!

8 ball house rules for my home table?

I bought a table for my basement a year and a half ago, and am loving it. I'm still trying to come up with a set of "house rules" for my home table. My problem is that the only people who come over and play are very casual players--mostly neighbors and friends who almost never play. Everyone...

    Your First Run-Out

Can I ask two simple terminology questions? In 8 ball, if the other guy breaks, sinks a couple of shots, misses, then you run out all of your balls and sink the eight and win in one turn--do you guys consider that running the table? Is that kind of run-out much less impressive than a break and...

    Thanks Diamond Billiards

I think I recall reading in a couple of places that this model needs to be installed on the ground floor, because the enormous weight of the one piece slate. Maybe I'm off, but the pic looks like a basement- no windows, drop ceiling. Am I reading this wrong? Was it an issue? Or maybe a...

    Green or Blue Simonis 860

I personally like the looks of the blue over the green. I currently have olive simonis 860 on my table at home, but when I change out the cloth I'll go with blue. Two quick questions: 1. Is there any argument for electric blue simonis over tournament blue? 2. Has anyone ever tried green...
