Are you sure about the date. Based on the "JOSS" logo and joint collars I think his cue is older, and much more valuable than a 1976 cue would be.

I owned a Black Baron for a while myself and liked the design a lot. I presently own a 1988 Alamo, which is the cornerstone of my collection.

Schon Cues
When Schon first started they made several cues that were not in the R series and did not have the same designs. My guess is your cue is one of those cues.
